Spain got away with one there ... too bad, Portugal is not playing with much urgency ... you'd think they'd be a little more desperate at this point.  :P

Great chance by Portugal ... blown. Frustration foul here ... too bad, no class in going out this way. Looked like a deliberate elbow from that far angle.

I don't understand why Portugal is ranked 3rd in Fifa's rankings.  They are overrated.

Portugal miss Scolari. I don't like the system Queiroz has implemented.

They were a much more attacking and fluid side under Scolari. They played with real belief back then.

Portugal did nothing in the second half except a ricochet, Ronaldo was MIA and they should thank Eduardo for saving them from conceding at lesat two more.

I don't like what Del Bosque is doing. There's no need to play with both Busquets and Alonso. One of them should play behind Iniesta and Xavi, while Navas or Silva in the right flang. That will give them more spacing and the middle wouldn't be so crowded. Iniesta in the right is less effective.

Good point about the luck of spacing in center. I was thinking the same thing during the game. Also o think a Joakim type of player on the wing would help a lot. Navas looks nothing like the player we know from Sevilla

Last time Brazil and Holland played in 1/4 finals was in 1994. Holland came back from 0:2 but Branco scored the winner. I remember that game very well. Hope we can get something like that yesterday (with Holland winning ;)).

I 100% agree and I'm pretty confident that the Netherlands will advance to the 1/2 finals! Go Holland!

Oh, offside on the Robinho goal. Very late flag.

That would have been great for the match. An early goal would be very good for this match.

Haha, wow, Brazil cuts apart Holland's defense again moments later.

Where were the center backs for Holland? They were completely out of position, center defense wide open for a runner to get through. About ten feet of wide open space in the center defense. Nice run by Robinho and very good finish.

Edit: Dutch defender went out with the runner, nobody dropped back to cover his space leaving it wide open for Robinho. I don't know why Holland's center halves are running that far out chasing attackers, leave it to the midfielders, you have De Jong and Van Bommel there, they can handle it. Also, the right back wasn't alert to the danger either. No communication or teamwork from any of those players.

Terrible mistake by Julio Cesar. Second time he has fluffed on a cross today.

Holland 1-1 Brazil ... both teams are going to have to go for it now. Should be a great finish.

The defender had it covered, easy header to clear the ball, Julio Cesar came over his back and tried to punch it but missed the ball entirely and the cross swung into the back of the net. Awful mistake.

2-1 Holland lead

Corner kick, Kuyt flicks it on, Sneijder bags the header. All the pressure is on Brazil now.
