Ghana was one penalty kick away from becoming the first African nation to play in world cup semi final. Hope thay won't be too harsh on Gyan. He'll be punishing himself enough.

I'm worried for Gyan ... this kind of pressure can ruin a life, and similar situations have ended up in tragedy ... hope it doesn't go that way.

Lets hope nothing bad happens to Gyan.  Guy still has a real bright future in front of him and I hope he can get redemption and make up for this.

I really hope so, too ... can't imagine having the weight of a continent on your shoulders and being such a scape-goat. Shame is a much heavier emotion there than it is in the U.S. - not remotely fair, but then, that's life, as we Celtics fans know all too well. ;)

Get pumped for

Last two times Maradona met Germany it was in back to back finals. In 86 they won 3:2 but lost 0:1 in 90 from a late penalty. But that's an ancient history. Argentian want to avenge for losing on penalties in 2006 quarter finals (Messi was on the bench in that game ???).

This game is impossible to predict. Anything can happen.

Argentina's front men do a terrific job of closing down the ball and pressuring defenders + midfielders while passing. Especially Tevez.

Ohhh, Klose ... ah, over the bar.

Excellent play by Muller to set up the chance.

It was a great build up...I thought Klose had that for sure

Ah no, he was offside ... oh, it's not so bad. I thought Tevez was onside on the first pass but that the second unselfish pass for the tap in was offside. Both players, and two others, were offside for Argentina.

Messi's free kick just before that was terrible. Should have let Tevez take it, decent chance Tevez scores from that position.

Excellent punch & clearance by Germany's keeper.

That was a dangerous cross. Great job coming out and winning it.

Germany have a lot of time and space on the ball in midfield once they get into Argentina's half.

Much more space than in their own half when they're trying to advance the ball past Tevez and Co.

They were all offsides on that play lol.

Good game so far though.

Muller's yellow card, eliminating him from a possible semifinal, was total garbage.

It's hard for Mascherano to be alone against Khedira (excellent player) and Schweinsteiger in the middle. Argentina needs a creative player over there instead of Maxi or Di Maria and Veron is their only option on the bench. Lucho Gonzalez would be a perfect fit right now, but Maradona left him out.

The players are starting to tire. A couple of guys on either team not tracking back over the last few minutes.

Argentina are cutting the Germans apart at the moment.

Germany needs to get a hold of this game before they lose it.
