Haha, that was a hilarious goal by Landon Donovan.

The goalie ducked away from the shot so he wouldn't get hit in the face. Haha, oh, that's terrible. Very funny. He was scared of stopping the shot and ducked. Haha, brilliant.

Awful, awful goal to concede.

The ref was horrible throughout the game.

England are a disjointed side at the moment. A lot of talent on the pitch but they aren't on the same page and they're wasting a lot of good opportunities as a result.

The good news is that they're still getting into good positions despite their uneven play which bodes well for them heading into the rest of the tournament because I do expect things to come together as the tourney continues.

SWP comes on for Lennon. I don't understand that substitution. Kind for kind when what you're doing needs a change.

It's disappointing to see SWP at this level. He doesn't have the intelligence, the discipline or the consistency to function at this level. He is a top player at midlevel club in the Premiership but he doesn't have the ability to play at the highest level.

England would have been much better off taking Ashley Young in SWP's place.

I like Jermaine Defoe coming on for Heskey.

Gives Rooney a different look, see if that helps spark Rooney's game.

Bright start from Defoe. Good activity, two nice runs putting pressure on the defense.

England have been very disappointing since the 75 minute mark.

No ambition to their play. No urgency. They look like they've accepted the result and aren't willing to fight for it. No energy from the team.

England have been disappointing since the 7 minute mark of the US game. They're not a good team and if they get past the last 16 I'll be stunned.

England underachieved in almost every World Cup (1966 aside) and this one won't be any different.

According to L'Equipe, Anelka told Domenech to go to hell and some other stuff at half time and that's why he was subbed. France team is a mess.
The Immortals:

Iker Casillas, Giacinto Facchetti, Alessandro Nesta, Matthias Sammer, Javier Zanetti, Lothar Matthäus (c), Xavi, Zico, Maradona, Roberto Baggio, Ferenc Puskas, Karl Heinz Rummenigge

Coach:Rinus Michels

Misha said "England underachieved in almost every World Cup (1966 aside) and this one won't be any different."

We've actually only ever reached 1 Final (1966) and 1 semi-final (1990). In 1966 we were able to play every game at Wembley Stadium and had the help from the linesman with the 3rd 'goal' in the final which I'm still waiting to cross the line.

On occasions, England can play well but in general, we vastly overrate ourselves going into these international tournaments and then suffer when reality strikes.

We wasn`t only subbed. He has left the team (as expected)

I was mid-post writing at the moment of the goal ... but it was the sweetest play of the tournament to this point, in my humble opinion! Awesome goal ... oh, man ... almost another one!! This is an exciting game ... Go Denmark!!
