What happened to that thread we had discussing Bill Simmons pre-playoff article about how he was 100% the Heat were gonna smash his hometown Celtics whom he clearly is not even a fan of.

What even happened to his article? I went to his website to look for it and found it no where, surely he cant just delete it from existence because it's so incredibly wrong.

I just wanted to start this thread to point out how monumentally wrong he is, but couldn't find a link to that article.

If anyone else can link it below so we can look at how much of an idiot he is.

Here's the CB thread discussing Simmons' thoughts:

http://forums.celticsblog.com/index.php?topic=36885.msg730904#msg730904

By the way, I modified the thread title to be more accurate, since Simmons didn't say what was in quotes.

Simmons' article is still posted on ESPN.com.  Actually, there's still a link on the front page.

We haven't won the series yet.

Once we have four wins in the playoffs we can call him an idiot.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the assumption, widespread here, that this series is over. If the last two postseasons and this regular season have taught us anything, it's that this group is more than capable of doing a complete about-face. It ain't over.

Exactly.

Miami is going home and we're playing on their court the next two games.  There's still a chance this can develop into a series.

He's been that for a long time.  His most recent article should have proved it even for even most ardent of Simmons' fans.  Unless the bosox fandom is really that strong...

I wonder what Teen Wolf/Shawshenk analogy is appropriate for someone that spends a lot of time doing something they appear to have very little knowledge of.

We whooped the Hawks even easier than the Heat in two games in 2007-2008.....

The series is not over so it's a bit early to call him an idiot, of course. But Simmons seems to have (kinda) admitted that he was wrong so far, according to his latest tweet on the series (posted during game 2) :

Who knew that it would take Quentin Richardson to wake up the 2009-10 Boston Celtics?

In the article Simmons compares Garnett to this guy in an attempt insult him...

I hate Bill Simmons, that comparison could not be any worse.  I hope the next time he see's KG, KG gives him paddling.

I think a lot of doubt of the Celtics could've been justified coming into the playoffs.  Judging by their regular season play, you wouldn't exactly say that this team was close to firing on all cylinders and playing the way you'd want your team to play going into the playoffs.  Conversely, I think some people talked themselves into the Heat by making some unfounded leaps.

I think only the green-lensed, kool-aid drinkers would've been having no doubts on this series here.

Yup, and this team has a lot more dog in them than the '08 team did.  I am certainly feeling better than I did a week ago, but there is still a long ways to go.
