CB Historical Draft - 1990's 2000's version - Discussion Thread

interesting concept.  You guys are going to kill each other debating a winner.

I like the chances of any team that builds around Prime Jordan or Prime Shaq.   But eventually, for example, you get into a huge debate about whether Prime Hakeem could tear up Prime Shaq since Prime Hakeem tore up pre-prime Shaq... I don't know... sounds dangerous.

Are you guys taking into consideration what league it will be?  What rules?  That kinda impacts things.  Early 90s teams got away with stuff that doesn't fly today... Shaq mutilated people in his hayday.  There was an entire year when the three point line was moved to make Jordan more invincible... stuff matters.

I'm going to try to hold debate amongst owners to a minimum, a friendly banter at best and allow the panelists to do the debating and critiquing. If debate gets too heavy all awards will end and possibly the game. This is for fun with the possibility of reward at the end. This is not strictly a competitive game.

Yeah, the real, cut-throat stuff doesn't happen 'til the CB Draft.

BTW I don't know which mod is commissioner this year but my offer to to be assistant commissioner to relieve the burden on the commish still stands. The Boxers will have to take a year off if the commish wants the assistance.

Yes. I will be e-mailing out a list of available players to each owner tomorrow when team assignments are announced. Attached will be an Excel spreadsheet file with a list of available players for each owner to do research from. I will also put up a thread of available players with draft positions once draft positions are announced the following Friday.

Teams are still available!!!

The announcement of draft positions will occur later today, probably late afternoon.

New players can be assigned a team and STILL have the opportunity to be eligible for the draft lottery if they join before then.

New players can be assigned a team and still play up until the morning of the first round of the draft but they will be assigned a draft position at the end of the first round(and subsequently at the top of the second round) if they join after the draft lottery today.

Both of you gentlemen would be more than welcome to join us. Only caveat is that your team would be picking at the end of the first round beginning of the second round. I don't know if in this particular draft with only 13 current teams and being a snake draft that makes that much of a difference though as there are just so MANY all time greats to choose from.

I will say though that I have one owner that due to personal reasons might need to pull out. Due to DL's first show of interest I would let him have that franchise if he would want it and if that player bows out.

Either way gentlemen just post definitive yes or no here or in a PM to me and we would love to have you aboard!!!
