Disagree. I think that the trades he was looking for were trades that would bring back younger talent without making us significantly less competitive in the short run. If the team loses in the first round or (probably worse) struggles in the first round and gets killed in the second round that will obviously affect his mindset. For instance, there was talk last summer of trading Perk for a top 5 pick. If the team looks bad in the postseason he might look for a trade like that. It might also affect whether he brings Ray back and signs another wing or lets Ray go or does a sign and trade to bring in a younger player at a different spot.

I don't see our performance in the playoffs having little or no impact on how Danny thinks the team will do next year, and I don't see whether or not Danny thinks we can contend with a few tweaks or not as having zero impact on his decisions this summer. I don't think that he has only one plan for the next 2 years regardless of how competitive he thinks they'll be over that timeframe.

Well, like I said in my other post, I was overstating my case a bit.  Yes, the playoffs will affect his decisions for next year.  I just don't think it will overrule his desire to maximize value, and retain flexibility when the new CBA kicks in.

I think the playoffs could influence whether he (tries to) trade Sheed this offseason, no matter what kind of value he can bring back, or whether they will bring back Tony Allen or Nate.

They also could affect the value of some of the starters, to determine whether it is worth trading them/resigning them.

But what I do not think is Danny is going to look at the playoffs and say "OK, its time to blow it up" and have a firesale, or say "OK, we are sticking it out for another year", and not even listen to offers.

The playoffs could help determine value for players, both for the C's, and teams interested in them.  But it is that value both on the court next season, and beyond, that dictates what he does this summer.

They've said all along that they know they have to flip on the switch come playoff time...

...I hope they can.
God help them if they don't.  That's the line they've been feeding the fanbase for months.  If they give the same listless effort in the playoffs that they've been giving in the regular season, it's going to get very ugly for this team quickly.
