Watch City Brewery in Waltham has bacon beer.. I haven't tried it yet, but I think I'm going to the next time I go.

I had it at the extreme beer fest a few weeks ago. It's good and smells of Bacon but it can not capture the true taste and crispiness of a nice slice of bacon.

Has anyone seen the Jim Gaffigan stand up called King Baby? He talks about Bacon for a solid 20 minutes, absoultely hilarious.

By itself, Bacon may be the most overrated meat out there...but toss that on a sandwich, or really in anything you cook, and it takes it to another level.

I believe that bacon, as overrated as it is, is underrated. It's the only meat I know of that will pull vegetarians off the wagon. You can cook in the grease. It never goes to waste. It taste great on everything. Friends of mine got married a few years back and had a "Bacon Cake" . It was just a huge pile, about 20 pounds of bacon in a large pile. Best wedding cake I ever ate! Go Bacon!

my friends and i have bourbon night once a month. folks bring food and drinks made with the good stuff (plus a few bottles to enjoy straight.) a while back someone brought bacon infused bourbon... sounded like the perfect combo... alas not so. after the initial excited pour the bottle has sat unopened through 3 bourbon nights. until, up at camp,it was mixed into the french toast fixings. holly bacon batman.

In an effort to lose weight in the past, I've tried Morningstar Farm's "vegetarian bacon".  It's edible, but man, it just doesn't come close to the real thing.  I'd rather be overweight than give up the good stuff.

While in Toronto a few weeks back I wan introduced to something called Peameal bacon. While not bad, it certanly wasn't the bacon I have learn to love over my many years.

No love here for turkey bacon? I've been converted.

No fat, just delicious, smoky, salty, crispy meaty goodness.

Best thread ever!!! Bacon makes everything better. However, I have some serious concerns about Bacon Beer...but it will be worth a try.

I can do turkey burgers no problem, but turkey bacon doesn't cut it.  You need the fat.

I had bison burgers last night.  A little chewy, but not bad.
Yup

See, stuff like that infuriates me. If you're going to eat bacon, you might as well go all out. My girlfriend is vegan and often purchases soy-based meats. One look at it and I'm immediately turned off. There's no sense in making something like bacon "healthy." People know what they're getting into, a glorious, greasy, flavorful, smokey, and meaty piece of meat. None of this vegan BS.

Plus, I have a soy allergy so I can't have it anyways.

Also, I <3 bacon jerky. Said vegan girlfriend bought me a sampler pack from baconfreak.com for Valentine's Day.

Soups and chowders don't count as they have real bacon in them

I'm talking bacon beer or bacon bourbon or bacon flavored drinks

I was at this Spanish tapas restaurant recently where they had an appetizer comprising bacon-wrapped dates - they were like $2 a piece, but they may have been best thing I have eaten in my entire life. I'm not exaggerating on this.

I've had baked dates wrapped in prosciutto, which are fabulous, but have yet to try the bacon version.
