I was at this Spanish tapas restaurant recently where they had an appetizer comprising bacon-wrapped dates - they were like $2 a piece, but they may have been best thing I have eaten in my entire life. I'm not exaggerating on this.

I've had baked dates wrapped in prosciutto, which are fabulous, but have yet to try the bacon version.
I have no doubt but what the prosciutto-dates are excellent as well. But in my admittedly unprofessional opinion, I might guess that the bacon edges out the prosciutto in this case...

Better yet, just remove the date altogether.

I wrapped a date in bacon once.  She called me a freak and slapped me in the face.

In terms of the bacons, I'd rate them:

1. Irish bacon (rashers)
1a. American bacon
...
50. Canadian bacon

Seriously, how is Canadian bacon even in the "bacon" family?  It's ham, plain and simple.  Now, I like ham, and there's nothing wrong with having it for breakfast...  but it's not bacon.  I feel like the Canadians are trying to pull a fast one on us.

Question for bacon lovers

Do burgers taste better with bacon or does bacon taste better when in a burger?

Think about that

Here is a recipe for you all to try (I suggest it for your NBA Finals/Celtics championship party).

And for God's sake have the defibrillator at the ready.
