I concur. No cheese on the BLT - cheese taints the flavors that make the BLT what it is...

Do a lot of Americans really believe that we Canadians have different bacon?  Maybe the comments made here regarding this were meant in a joking matter but if it's not meant in a joking matter then some folks are just naive.  We have the same bacon as you and we call it bacon as you do as well. We have back bacon that is similar to ham and that is what you refer to as Canadian bacon.  It's not really that common here though.

Just setting the facts straight...

No love here for turkey bacon? I've been converted.

No fat, just delicious, smoky, salty, crispy meaty goodness.

I can do turkey burgers no problem, but turkey bacon doesn't cut it.  You need the fat.

I had bison burgers last night.  A little chewy, but not bad.

First off. This thread rocks. Bacon is wicked awesome!

I've learned that Turkey Bacon can be delicious, and crispy - ya just gotta use buter and cook it fast and crazy hot just to the point of pre-burning, and that stuff is great.

Thanks to this thread, I ordered a turkey and bacon sandwich for lunch today. Mmmm, it was good.

I also just stumbled upon this (tell me it doesn't make you salivate):

Quote
Maple Bacon Truffles

Balls of dark chocolate and bacon bit ganache coated in a white chocolate and maple-infused syrup the garnished with bacon bits.

I am a huge fan of bacon and believe it to be among the best tasting foods on earth.

No cheese on the BLT.

Since I am over 50, I limit my bacon to a stip or 2 within a chicken or turkey sandwich.  It makes a huge flavor difference.  Remarkably, bacon goes well with a surprising number of foods: great with eggs, with pancakes and syrup, with turkey, ham, beef, chicken, with tuna or chicken salad, on any kind of green salad, and some even like it with peanut butter.  A truly remarkable food.

I watched in awe the other day at a Subway -- a guy ordered a foot-long pastrami (also a great food) with cheese then had them add bacon!! Wow!! He is my hero.  It was not Jared.

Add your favorite bacon combo.

Like, a bacon milkshake?

I forget where I saw it, but I remember hearing about some restaurant/eatery offering a bacon-caramel milkshake. The intoxicating combination of smoky, salty, and sweet. Mmmm.

EDIT: found it! The internet is awesome.
