8 points tonight for billy walker against the hawks... again i ask how could we trade such a player?
If people are going to mock the logic that one or two huge games means he's a future all-star, then what gives you the right to counter with the premise that the guy stinks because he's having average or below average games? Ever heard of a role player? Did you even watch the game?

Personally I'm not commenting on how he played because I didn't see the game, but if you have any other insights to share besides what I can already see from the box score then by all means share them. Otherwise what's the point of making posts like that?

Thank god for a post that makes sense! TP for you.

All I've been trying to say all along is that he'll be a good player based on what I've seen. He's athletic, has good size, he can shoot it and get to the basket, and dunks anything even remotely near the rim.

If his defense isn't up to par it's because 1)he's a 2nd year player 2)he now plays for the knicks, so that doesn't help.

So really, all the tools are there. And that's what I'm basing my prediction off of. But I'll admit having a couple of 20 point games the first time he gets serious minutes doesn't really hurt, either.

Sure, you can make the argument that he's also had a couple of not so great games, but that's part of learning to play the game. The important thing is that the 20 point games have shown HE HAS IT IN HIM.

For what it's worth, anybody know what Gabe Pruitt's career high was? Aside from lacking the physical tools of Bill Walker, I'll bet he never scored over 20 points, ever.
Acie Earl once scored 40

Gerald Green once scored 33

Kevinn Pinkney scored 15 in his pro debut

Allan Ray on three separate occasions scored more than 20 points

Orien Greene once had back to back games of 14 points

Being able to score  some points in a game or three or dunk anything around the basket doesn't make one a viable NBA player as the point totals of the preceding players can attest to

lamb sums everything up with his post perfectly TP!.. and as far as his defense not being great because hes a second year player and he plays for the knicks...

well rookie toney douglas was getting his minutes last night.. a rookie playing defense for the knicks in crunch time! not bill walker

He also had one and a half years of tutelage under Tom Thibodeau and the Boston Celtics

You would think he may have learned how to play better defense a little bit in that time under that exposure

SG: Ray Allen, Anthony Parker, Quentin Richardson
SF: Grant Hill, Matt Barnes, D

I'll cut my own rod off if Scal scored 20 in back to back games on any team in the league

That statement definitely required some serious cohones.

nah...that's a safe bet if i ever saw one.

Or he's married and found out there is not use for it after that :P
Back to wanting Joe fired.

In regards to Billy Walker putting up good numbers for the value fantasy players, just remember that he is doing it for a poor team while playing for an NBA contract. He has not been scouted out yet. He puts up great numbers in a losing cause.

We used to have a player like that: Brandon Hunter. He got scouted and we never heard from him again.

I'm not saying that Billy Walker will be a flash in the pan like Brandon Hunter was but the Celtics were willing to part with him for a reason. Looks like Nate Robinson could help us.

Brandon Hunter was a smurf.  Billy Walker isn't undersized for his position.

so the biggest things he has going for him are 1. he can dunk!! and 2. hes the right height for his postion?? such great attributes  ::)

I will be honest, I thought Brandon Hunter would end up having like a 5 year career. He really fell off the map pretty quickly. Bill Walker at this point doesn't have anything going for him that Gerald green didn't (except maybe having played in college). Nonetheless I root for him and wouldn't mind if he ended up back in boston this year. He has shown some promise and would be cheap money. However, I will trust the celtics judgement on him since they have not cut free many good young players in the Ainge Regime.

LOL You cant tell someone is playing good basketball if youre not watching the games.  Yes like you said looking at Lebrons stats and Scals one night you can tell Lebron played better, but thats a pretty rediculous comparison.

If Walker was say 7-14 from the field, how do you know 3 or 4 of those shots werent dunks?  He had like 3 of them against the C's and I dont think he even played that much.  Take 3 dunks away from 7-14 shooting and it becomes 4-11 shooting.  Not that marvelous....even when youre just staring at a box score.

Oddly enough when Tony Allen was given minutes on a very bad team, he was putting up 20 a game before his injury, and hes the player you said wasnt good enough to measure up to Billy.

Also, like someone said before there is no chance that when you suggested Tony Allens minutes be cut that no one agreed with you.......and even more to so to say that you're the only one who thought Bill Walker was going to be a good player during his time here in Boston is just as ludicrous.

.....Oh and Greg Minor once put up 30 points

Tony Delk scored 50

So did Tracy Murray.  Whos Tracy Murray?  Exactly.....
