I look at this Pistons team and can't help but think that earlier in the year when they were losing steadily and the injury bug hit, they were telling themselves that, if healthy, they have a shot when the playoffs come.
A shot a what? Not getting swept in the first round? Detroit was never really good enough to win it all even in their heyday: they got lucky in '04 in a very weak Eastern Conference against an LA team that had a meltdown. In most other years, that team gets knocked out in the Conference Finals, if not the semis.
Yeah, I know. I just had this outrageous idea that a team like Detroit, coming together w/health at the right time, had a reason to think they could still be playing in late May. A team like that might have a pretty freakin' good reason to think they just might have a shot at going the rest of the way, too.
And if you noticed, it's not like we're much better than they are. If we're the measuring stick(we're supposed to be the contenders, while they're the rebuilding team), if healthy, they probably have as much of a shot as we do, maybe better-Jerebko is a very nice player.
