While much of this point guard's career took place in the 80s, his remarkable streak continued into the early 90s.  From an obscure (in basketball at least) Illinois college, this player became the first in NBA history to increase his scoring average in each of his first 8 seasons.  Unfortunately, he also is on the list of veterans who retired the season before his last team won a title, and so finished with none.

Name the 3 players who made up "Lethal Weapon 3"

Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, Joe Pesci

Lol, let me rephrase it, name the 3 basketball players who were dubbed "Lethal Weapon 3"

I looked it up, I didn't know the answer.

Is this for my question?  If so, neither is right.

I looked it up, very disappointed not to get it.

That eight seasons accomplishment immediately came back to me once I saw his name.

I don't have a clue.

Another hint:  the entire streak took place while playing for Dallas, from 83-84 to 90-91.

The Fighting Illini is obscure?

Edit whoops, guess you're right with the obscure college thing.

Yeah, that's what got me.

He went to the University of Illinois.  How is that obscure?

Hahaha, oops - his bio said Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and I assumed it was a satellite campus.  My bad.  TP for correctitude though.

Another Ju-Co to Big School transfer. A 6'1 guard that was a 6x NBA All-Defensive 1st or 2nd team selection, a 1 time all-star, and a never champion. He ranks top 10 in the following categories: Steals, 3pters made. Has franchise records for 3pters taken, 3pters made, and steals. Known more for his D than his O, he also has a funny name.
