There are at least four players on this team who are way more expendable than Eddie, and whatever becomes of this trade and Nate being here, will always have a bitter after-taste for me, because it just plain sucks that we're losing "The House".

If you read CB, Eddie, this is one guy who will hate to see you go ... you always give 110%, have the heart of a lion, rarely complain or cause controversy or division, and are a complete class act and benefit to the community. You are Red's definition of "Celtic Pride", and you'll always be welcomed in this town, whoever you play for ...

... and as far as I'm concerned, you will always be a Celtic.

Love you, Man.

Hey guys -- I just uploaded this video onto youtube.  It is by far my favorite play House  made as a Celtic: Diving for a loose ball in Game 7 2008 against Cleveland.  Every true Celtic fan remembers it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vrz3LBc1nRI

My favorite Eddie House moment as well. TP for you!

I hope in Doc and Danny's initial sitdown with Nate they show him this video....and say:  "Nate, this is what we want from you".  But I'll say it myself:  "Nate, this is what we want from you!"

Nate, do things like this and the Boston fans will adopt you like no other adoption you'll ever experience....

Bring it on both ends Nate....we need you!!

Thanks again Eddie, for #17 and for showing Nate how to do it... :o

He was an absolute class act, and provided more hustle than anyone on the team.  I get the move (sort of), but that doesn't make this any easier.  You could tell he was not happy about leaving the team in his interview on ESPN.  He put on a tough face and called it a business, but I'm sure he is dying on the inside.

Just sending a little love for Eddie.  He was a nice part of a championship team, and deserves to be a beloved figure here for life.  He had a rough year this year, and was more often than not asked to do things that were not his strength (note singular).

Eddie was a shooter, and he made some real big shots here.

I have no qualms with trading Eddie, and I like the deal for Nate.  This is not a "we should have kept Eddie" post - just a little love for a guy who was an awful lot of fun to watch when he was hot.

2008 was an amazing assembly of perfectly calibrated attitudes.  Posey had it.  Powe had it.  Eddie had it.

Thanks for that Eddie.

Very well stated and i agree with all you said. When you think of Eddie...he is what i call a great representative of what a player wearing Green should be like on/off the court.tp

Best to Eddie as well.  I'll remember Eddie fondly for:

- making the go-ahead shot in the Game 4 comeback in LA.
- making Phil Jackson look as worried as I've ever seen him after hitting a huge 3 to bring us within 6 during that comeback
- outracing a Cav and diving onto a big loose ball late in Game 7 vs Cleveland
- starting this play against the Bobcats, as close to a perfect play as this team has ever run:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THelakSKII8

- his son serving as the unofficial mascot for the 08 playoffs.
- last year, getting Rafer Alston so ****ed off that the only thing he could think to do was slap him in the head after Eddie drained yet another 3 in his face.
- the regular hockey-style body checks he and Posey used to deliver on key rebounds
- remaining calm and dignified even when Doc sat him for most of the 08 playoffs

Eddie was a great part of this team and definitely deserved to wear the green and white.  I look forward to seeing him get a standing O this Tuesday when we play the Knicks.  Thanks Eddie.

I will miss Eddie.  I loved how bouncy he got with every hot shooting streak.

I will say that my wife was more horrified to hear that Eddie's son was leaving than Eddie.  Though, as far as I'm concerned, we still have the rights to Jaelen.   ;D
