Nate may be better, but this doesn't make us better contenders to win it all.  We need rebounding help.  The C's have been awful on the glass.  Also, we're talking about Nate playing the point guard, but is really that much of a better decision maker then House?  He's always played better off the ball in New York.
do it

  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
I remember when the C's signed him prior to the 2007 and defending him to a lot of my friends. I never thought he was a perfect point guard, but the guy can light it up, at any time.

If it goes through I will definitely miss posting this...

I like Nate, but I just wish it wasn't for Eddie. :'(

Any chance he gets bought out and comes back to us?  I don't think he'll want to re-sign with NY anyway.... unless Lebron signs there. :-\

Ugh... I'm not sold on Nate so I guess i will have to trust Danny on this decision but it really sucks to see Eddie go.

He played a major role in the championship year, his performance in game 4 of the Finals was amazing and is simply unforgettable. He did have so many great moments/games with us during these years... he came up big in the playoffs last year too against the Bulls (he saved us in the 4th quarter of game 7) and against the Magic (in game 2, when he erupted for 30 points if I recall correctly).

It really sucks to see Eddie go, it is (was?) always a pleasure to see him get on fire and shoot us right back in a game by making 6 straight 3's. Definitely a momentum/game changer. I love(d?) his energy, hustle and his "take that, you bi***" attitude.

I hate to see him go... still hoping that Danny trades someone else to NY but it's a pipe dream I guess.

See ya Eddie, thanks for all you did for the Celtics, and you did a lot. You were also a great guy in the locker-room and were all for the team concept from what I've read. Let's hope Nate doesn't make us regret this trade. :'(

I hope Eddie has a "Danny Ainge Appreciation Thread."

Weren't the C's the first team that kept him around for consecutive years?

No way, D'Antoni likes House and will keep him around to see if he has a place on the team next year.

Eddie House reacting like the true professional that he is :

Quote
"Talking to my agent, there's a strong possibility that I will be traded tomorrow to New York."- Eddie House

Doesn't fault organization for making a move. Says they are trying to make team stronger.

House says he'll practice with team because he's a pro, but bracing himself to join NY Knicks. Doc says trade is not done, but House did have option to stay at hotel. Chose to practice.

"I got a bond with these guys. That's the tough thing."-Eddie House

[dang]... I'm sad to see Eddie go. :'(

Yea, House is a great Lebron fit if they do get him this summer.

eddie never got enough credit on d.

sure if he's covering a premier point guard, they're gonna be able to get by him, but he hustles his butt off going after loose balls and running people of 3 point attempts.

Yeah..I'll miss Eddie as well...if he goes.

I vividly remember those back-breaking threes that he and James Posey were hitting to bring Boston back in game 4 of the 2007-2008 Finals....loved that game.

The only thing constant in the NBA is change.

Eddie drove me up the wall at times; however, I think he was really underrated for what his shooting did for the team.  I think the majority of the time, his shooting made up for any deficiencies he had as a point guard.

We'll miss him.

On a side note, when I told my wife, her first response was "does that mean his son won't be on the sidelines anymore?"

I told her that as far as I know, Eddie's kid isn't part of the deal and stays here.

I understand this is an "appreciation thread", but for heaven's sake, people are praising his DEFENSE?

Wow.

How about this:

Eddie was/is a great teammate, good locker room guy, appreciated us fans, and worked hard and hustled on every play.  He got people going with his lights out shooting in some key games.  We'll miss that, and appreciate what he did for our team.

(Okay, leave out his limitations, but jeez...don't lie.)

I'm not sold on Nate, either ... I like him, but I don't think he's the answer to our weaknesses now, and there are players on this team way more expendable than Eddie. If you read CB, Eddie, this is one guy who will hate to see you go ... you always give 110%, don't complain, and are a complete class act. You are the definition of "Celtic Pride", and you'll always be welcomed in this town, whoever you play for ... love you, man.
