Think about it.

Unless KG's condition is much more serious than is being shown, (It can't be that bad if he's playing minutes in the all-star game), then why the heck would the Celtics bring this guy on?  Look at his contract.

I agree it makes no sense if KG is fine (and I think he is).

But then again, if you put all the rumors together for a moment and consider they are true, you have to wonder if Danny couldn't get crazy and trade Ray and Perk to GS for Biedrins, Ellis and Morrow, and then trade our expiring "dumps" for Jamison, to play him as the starting center or as a 6th man, and then trade Sheed to Charlotte for Augustin...

If you put all these rumors together, although they don't make sense at first, you can imagine that Danny has "big plans" in mind, and this scenario would be one. It's an absurd one in my opinion but who knows what could happen?

The most absurd thing would be the amount of luxury tax the Cs would have to pay under such a scenario...

Latest tweets from CavsInsider regarding Jamison, and concerning Boston :

Quote
Cavs have continued talks with Wiz about Jamison but sources say there is competition. Celtics are still involved, sources say.

Boston has been testing market for Rasheed Wallace, potentially to make room for Jamison. Source says all of that is unlikely, tho

I don't understand all this interest from the C's in Jamison and his terrible contract. If they trade for him, they won't trade for another player with a huge contract so it's a moot point in my opinion.

Sheed has been disappointing this season but he has shown that he can still be dominant in the post and play very good D, two crucial qualities that we will need for the playoffs. Yes, he is lazy and sometimes frustrating but he still our biggest asset off the bench with Marquis, and we need him since KG hasn't looked good so far. Having a 6th man big who can come off the bench in the playoffs to score easily with postups, stretch the floor and defend well on players like Howard, is a huge, huge asset and we can't give it up. Not to mention that Sheed would be better for us in crunch time than Perk offensivey.

Jamison would be an upgrade over Sheed obviously but he is not worth the salary and isn't a really good defender. I guess Boston is just testing the market for Sheed like the tweet said, and that they won't trade him, but who knows... sounds like a potential desperation ove from Danny, though.

So, does anybody know why Boston is still after Jamison (if this source is reliable)??

Dru, I don't understand your resistance to this idea. It's probably the best option out there.

We trade Ray for Jamison+Miller. Then hopefully Ray gets bought out.

Rondo
Ray
Paul
KG
Perk

House
Miller
Daniels
Jamison
Sheed
Baby

You then could also deal Sheed or Baby for a backup PG like Augustin...I mean, that's win/win for the Cs.

The Cs are likely driving up the price for Cleveland on Jamison so they can get Mike Miller for less.

Can you say defensive liability? ???

What does Mike Miller bring to the table? ???

(other than a bad haircut of course ;D)

We need a more current pic. He's rocking the buzz cut and serious ink nowadays.

As for what he brings, efficient shooting and very good rebounding for his position.

He's also a willing passer/good team guy, and has good size on the wing, which we currently lack.

Miller also is a pretty tough guy who plays with an attitude. Something this team has been lacking.

Attitude is one of the things this team is NOT lacking. If anything, we need more playing and less attitude.

J.A. Adande: With rampant speculation that Miami is trying to pry Amare Stoudemire from the Phoenix Suns before the Cleveland Cavaliers can get him, here are two possible scenarios.

According to an NBA source, the Heat are offering Daequan Cook, Quentin Richardson, Dorell Wright, Mario Chalmers and draft picks to the Suns. Cook is the only player among that group who is under contract for next season (Chalmers has a team option for $847,000). It is believed that the Suns would rather have a package from Cleveland that would include Zydrunas Ilgauskas and J.J. Hickson and a draft pick, with the young Hickson as the most appealing part of the package.

Another league source said the Suns would like to attach Jason Richardson to a Stoudemire trade, which would relieve Phoenix from having to pay Richardson's $14 million salary next season. The combined $29 million of outgoing salary from Stoudemire and Richardson this season would be too difficult for Clevlend to match to make a trade work under the salary cap guidelines. Miami, however, could add the $23 million expiring salary of Jermaine O'Neal to the previously mentioned offer and come within the 25 percent range of matching salaries. I have yet to hear that they are willing to do so, I am merely mentioning the possibility.

Not a chance in heck that we make the east finals. The CAVS, MAGIC, and HAWKS would all beat us in a series. The Raptors would give us all we wanted. This team is at BEST a 2nd round out the way we are playing. Only way we make the conf finals is with a fully healthy Garnett. I don't think this trade makes us any better though.

We would destroy the Raptors, with or without a healthy KG, as we have for the last 3 seasons.  I agree with the rest though.

I believe that report. I'm not convinced that Miami are willing to include Michael Beasley, and if they were, I'm not convinced that Phoenix would still be interested in what the Cavs are offering. That never added up to me.

I think Adande's report is the most accurate.
