Latest tweets from CavsInsider regarding Jamison, and concerning Boston :

Cavs have continued talks with Wiz about Jamison but sources say there is competition. Celtics are still involved, sources say.

Boston has been testing market for Rasheed Wallace, potentially to make room for Jamison. Source says all of that is unlikely, tho

I don't understand all this interest from the C's in Jamison and his terrible contract. If they trade for him, they won't trade for another player with a huge contract so it's a moot point in my opinion.

Sheed has been disappointing this season but he has shown that he can still be dominant in the post and play very good D, two crucial qualities that we will need for the playoffs. Yes, he is lazy and sometimes frustrating but he still our biggest asset off the bench with Marquis, and we need him since KG hasn't looked good so far. Having a 6th man big who can come off the bench in the playoffs to score easily with postups, stretch the floor and defend well on players like Howard, is a huge, huge asset and we can't give it up. Not to mention that Sheed would be better for us in crunch time than Perk offensivey.

Jamison would be an upgrade over Sheed obviously but he is not worth the salary and isn't a really good defender. I guess Boston is just testing the market for Sheed like the tweet said, and that they won't trade him, but who knows... sounds like a potential desperation ove from Danny, though.

So, does anybody know why Boston is still after Jamison (if this source is reliable)??

They're not.

I honestly think that these stories that are being planted out there showing Boston interest are solely for the purpose of driving up the asking price for Jamison.  If it appears that Boston is interested, the bargaining power of the Wiz goes up.

Yeah, I guess it makes more sense that this is just a rumor spread by the Wizards to drive the price of Jamison.

It's hard to believe any source right now, I can't wait till the deadline so we can finally know what has happened and what was bogus, these rumors and contrary reports are frustrating and mind-boggling...

Think about it.

Unless KG's condition is much more serious than is being shown, (It can't be that bad if he's playing minutes in the all-star game), then why the heck would the Celtics bring this guy on?  Look at his contract.

The Cs are likely driving up the price for Cleveland on Jamison so they can get Mike Miller for less.

My gut says KG will be better if his minutes stay down, below 30, preferably around 28.  that leaves close to 20 minutes at his position...  Perhaps Sheed's not mobile enough to guard quick 4's, and BBD isn't enough firepower?

But most likely, the rumor is BS.

I agree it makes no sense if KG is fine (and I think he is).

But then again, if you put all the rumors together for a moment and consider they are true, you have to wonder if Danny couldn't get crazy and trade Ray and Perk to GS for Biedrins, Ellis and Morrow, and then trade our expiring "dumps" for Jamison, to play him as the starting center or as a 6th man, and then trade Sheed to Charlotte for Augustin...

If you put all these rumors together, although they don't make sense at first, you can imagine that Danny has "big plans" in mind, and this scenario would be one. It's an absurd one in my opinion but who knows what could happen?

I absolutely believe the C's are still after Jamison. I just don't see KG getting back to his form even from earlier this season(hope I am wrong). Jamison would give us pretty nuch a replica of KG on offense and could be a decent team defender. This is definitely a KG insurance policy and if they can get him for expirings(other than Ray) + BBD I would do it. I would also do Ray + BBD for Jamison and Miller , but only if Ray gets bought out.

I sure as heck hope that Danny is staying away from those Golden State talks.

Of all the rumors out there, that one is the most troubling to me and would be the toughest to swallow.

I'd be shocked if Danny does something as extravagent as that.  That's just too much roster turnover for a team that's not that far away from competing for a championship.  You can't have a team like that gel in 2 months.

I share your feelings, this trade with GS would be terrible and I would hate to see it hapen.

It would clearly show that Danny's plan is to rebuild right now instead of competing for the championship this season to the expense of compromising our future due to our financial restrictions.

I really hate this idea but Danny is known as a "bold GM" so it could happen, although it would be incredibly stupid to me, to you, and many other fans, I guess.

Yeah, something like Drucci suggested would make getting Jamison SOMEWHAT reasonable, but is it worth losing Ray and Perk?

I think this is a smokescreen by the Wizards. Us trading for Jamison does WAY more for Washington than it does for us.

We're totally being used as a bargaining chip.

I have no idea if this could work salary wise but do think it's possible that Danny is trying to talk GS or WAS into getting into a three-way trade with SAC to get Kevin Martin? I know SAC said awhile ago that they would not trade Martin unless they got a big man in return. I understand that they probably wouldn't want Jamison but stranger things have happened.

BOS gets Martin
GS/WAS gets Allen
SAC gets Beidrins/Jamison
(And other players for salary purposes)

I think the only way we are going to get Martin is in a three way trade. We just don't have the chips to do it straight up.

I wouldn't entirely be surprised to see some of this leak out of Boston, either.

I think the only way that a Jamison deal goes down is if it doesn't involve Ray.

Danny only wants to give up Ray if he gets back a young scorer.  Neither Jamison nor Mike Miller truly does that.

On the other hand, I don't see many teams ponying up much for Jamison.  His contract is too long at too high of a number for a guy who is his age with his skill set.

By trading TA, House, Scal, and Giddens, we allow Washington to keep the expiring contract of Mike Miller (which appeals to them).  And they get to totally take Jaimson off the books.  While we'd lose our apparent "backcourt depth," TA's role is likely going to diminish anyway with Daniels back, and House can be replaced either by an Augustin trade, a buy out, or signing Ty Lue.

Still don't love it, but I'd do that long before I'd do a deal that lost Ray for Jamison.
