I think plenty of people want to keep Ray, but if theres a chance to improve our team by dealing him you gotta do it.

I want the Celtics to use Ray the best way they can.

Whether that is as a player or in a trade, I will wait and see.

Yeah thats what everyone wants. What I mean is who thinks the better choice is just not to trade him. We cant get better value back. Anyone else think this is the case.

No.  I think they can get trade value back if AI2 or Martin is available.

So you think Kmart is better fit for the Celtics than Ray Allen?
They wont get Iggy so?

Yes.  He is a better offensive player.  And he is going to be more serviceable on defense now then Ray.  Ray can't be hidden anymore.

Wow no offense but I think thats crazy.  I think we get worse instantly. Trade Big Baby/Rasheed whoever is weak in the effort department. Ray is playing 40 minutes a night vs top shooting guards. Kobe/ Joe Johnson will shoot right over the top of Kmart.

And they just go around Ray.

Not to mention that Martin is 6'7, Ray is 6'5 and I haven't seen him skying for the ball lately.

True except that Ray weighs 205 and Kevin Martin is 185.
Ray played good defense on both JJ and Kobe. While also being
asked to carry us from distance. I think if we had Kmart you would be disappointed fairly quickly. The idea that our defense would improve is false.

Johnson averages more points against Boston then his season average.

Ray was a minus 16 against the Lakers this season

We could go round and round with stats. What i see is a 35 year old shooting gurad running around almost as many pics as Rip Hamilton on offesne. Then on defense he has to chase JJ and Redick,Kobe. He is playing 39 minutes a game. Do you think Kobe or Johnson wont get their points on Kmart? Ray is busting his butt all game. Wallace Perkins Baby need to play as hard as Ray.
Doc needs to sit Pierce if injured and play Bill Walker. Please god help Doc develop the bench. Ray is the only one doing his job. I cant see any sense in a trade of Ray sorry.

A 35 year old SG that is showing decline this season.

A 35 year old SG that is in his last year of his contract making this the last chance the Celtics can get value out of him.

Ray Allen is not a life long Celtics.  He was a Buck.  He was a Sonic.  Now, he is a Celtic.  If he is a King by the end of the season, so be it.

No one ever said anything about a life long Celtic. The point I am contesting is the fact that he is in decline. He is not in decline, numbers dont tell the whole story. You think you can simply plug in Kmart and everything will be great. First Kmart and Rondo will get bullied by guards like Billups,Kobe etc. They are both less than 190. Second just like Powe not being resigned it will be bad energy in the lockerroom considering Ray is one of the only players doing his job and the players know it.

How is signing the player that the star all went to see in Detroit to get him to sign bad energy in the lockerroom?

The 2008 team is gone.  There is no bringing it back.
