Quote from Doc in today's Herald "Three, leaning back on your past success. Your past success is no guarantee to future success, and I think this team leans back too far on what they've done."
Well Doc, you're the coach and are getting very well compensated to perform that job. Maybe it's time to start letting the people who subscribe to the above theory know it's not going to be tolerated -- and then backing it up by taking the drastic step of say...taking away playing time.....
Just a thought...
I don't know the context of that quote, but I don't think it refers that much to Davis. Honestly, I think that could refer to Doc as much as anyone, who continues to give the benefit of the doubt to guys like Ray, KG, and Wallace, while having a short leash on other guys, even when they are performing well.
But really, I think that is a problem with the whole team. They all seem to think its 2008, and the ship will just right itself. However, it is not 2008. The players skillsets have all changed, and they need to make the proper adjustments.
