Just curious.... of all the "dream" trade scenarios (trading Ray for a younger fringe star), which would you want?

I imagine Danny has offered Ray for Martin, iggy, deng and ellis...  I imagine each team has told Danny "no thanks"... but for the heck of it I'm curious who you'd prefer.

I think I'd go with Deng #1, Iggy #2, KMart #3, Ellis #4 and the Hinrich crap sandwich last.

I think KMart would fit Ray's role the best, but I still go with Iggy over him, because I think Iggy gives this team a totally different dynamic.  He's a threat for a triple double, he's a great defender, and he and Rondo would be frightening on a fast break.

Plus iggy and rondo can grab rebounds to make up for kg and sheed. Also gives us lock down defenders at PG,SG+SF(when PP is healthy. That helps to make up for KG'S lack of shot blocking and rebounding. If we could get Dalembert with him I truely think the C's would be legit contenders.

Ray for Iggy+Dalembert would be awesome.  Also Dalembert's expiring contract would become a big trade chip at next year's trade deadline.

I'm interested in these trades

(1) Kevin Martin
(2) Iggy
(3) Deng
(4) Hinrich + Thomas + Salmons
(5) Jason Richardson and change
(6) And to a lesser degree a Corey Maggette + Anthony Morrow based package.

I have no interest in a (a) Hinrich + one of Thomas/Salmons, or, (b) Monta Ellis trade (c) Josh Howard trade (d) Caron Butler based trade.

  • Rondo = Good
It comes down to Iggy or Martin.  They are roughly the same age.  Iggy is more talented, Martin is a better fit.  Martin's injury issues swing it for me: I would prefer us to get Iguodala.

If we do the iggy and dalembert deal. We'll have over 35 million in expirings come next trade deadline. Plus he's is more durable and a year young.

Unfortunatly, i think the martin deal is more likely.

Perfect... trade for Iggy and Dalembert this year.  Then trade expirings for Martin next year.  ;)

1. Iggy (with Dalembert)

2. Ill go with Deng actually. Id rather go with Iggy and Sam to get a long athletic big off the bench... Chicago cant give us that.

3. Ellis

4. Kmart

5. Hinrich, Salmons, Thomas

AI2.  He's healthier, and is a much, much better defender.

Yeah.  AI + Dalembert would be sweet.  While we are thinking of unrealistic dream scenarios, can we also see if they'll take Sheed for Lou Williams?

while im a kevin martin fan and wouldnt mind if they get him for ray, i think getting iggy and brand/dalembert/williams changes the dynamic of the team, i think the difference is martin makes the celtics a contender, iggy and brand?make the c's the favorite because of depth and defense(the keys to the C's trophy run in 2008) id be willing to trade ray and sheed/bbd for iggy and dalembert/brand, but i think williams as a 3rd player would be overkill and i wouldnt want that to hold up the trade. i am a huge ray allen fan and getting him was key to turning this team around but the time is right to trade him, hes older, expriring contract, the team needs a shot in the arm and most importantly, hes not helping them in areas where they need the help. go celtics!

Ray + Perk for Iggy and Dalembert? Gives the 76ers some real incentive to trade I believe, they can replace Dalembert with a similar center at half the price.

I'd do it. At least Dalembert isn't a black hole on offense and knows his role. Dalembert is also the far better athlete and shot blocker, thought he may not be the better defensive player overall. But the acquisition of Iggy more than makes up for it.

That's a pretty even trade talent wise. We would still have Sheed KG and Dalembert to bang with Howard,Bynum and Gasol.. Sheed doesn't do much well these days, but his low post D is still good. We would get much more athletic and Iggy and Dalembert can run the floor with Rondo. As much as I love Perk I think Dalembert could make up for the loss.
