  • Rondo = Good
Ray + Perk for Iggy and Dalembert? Gives the 76ers some real incentive to trade I believe, they can replace Dalembert with a similar center at half the price.

That's a pretty even trade talent wise. We would still have Sheed KG and Dalembert to bang with Howard,Bynum and Gasol.. Sheed doesn't do much well these days, but his low post D is still good. We would get much more athletic and Iggy and Dalembert can run the floor with Rondo. As much as I love Perk I think Dalembert could make up for the loss.

I agree.  Gonna do a shameless self plug and repost a comparison I made in another thread:

"Samuel Dalembert:

6'11'' 250 lbs Age: 28

PPG: 7.5 (09-10) 8 (Career)
RPG: 9.8 (09-10) 8.3 (Career)
BPG: 2.2 (09-10) 2 (Career)
SPG: .6 (09-10) .5 (Career)

FG%: .519 (09-10) .523 (Career)
FT%: .838 (09-10) .697 (Career)
MPG: 26.1 (09-10) 26.4 (Career)

Kendrick Perkins:

6'10'' 270 lbs Age: 25

PPG: 11.6 (09-10) 6.3 (Career)
RPG: 8.2 (09-10) 6 (Career)
BPG: 2 (09-10) 1.5 (Career)
SPG: .3 (09-10) .3 (Career)
FG%: .620 (09-10) .564 (Career)
FT%: .588 (09-10) .608 (Career)
MPG: 28.8 (09-10) 21.9 (Career)

Okay, I've bolded the areas where one is better than the other.  The stats aren't particularly surprising.  Sammy D and Perk are fairly similar players.

Physically, there's only an inch difference between them, and I think in terms of how they play it's negligible.  Perk is a bit heavier than Dalembert (mainly muscle), which is fairly significant.  Dalembert, however, is definitely a better rebounder.  Perk is a better offensive player, scoring more points (mainly in the last couple of seasons) and posting a higher FG % (though I think Sammy D has a bit more range).  Dalembert is a better blocker, though it's pretty close.  He's also a better free throw shooter, and plays fewer minutes per game to put up his numbers.

I won't bother comparing either of them to Sheed because, frankly, they're both very different from Sheed and a lot younger.  I think it's safe to say they're both more valuable than Sheed at this point.

In any case, other than intangibles on defense that don't show up in stats (like Perk being able to bother Dwight Howard more on the block), I'd say Perk and Dalembert are pretty even.  Dalembert is actually significantly better in a few categories.

Overall, I think he's definitely a downgrade (especially since his contract is a lot bigger and he's a few years older), but I think if we're getting Iguodala in return for Ray in a trade, the excess of talent coming our way in that swap more than makes up for it."

Why would the C's take Dalembert? the Kings want a center right? check this out!

Boston Gets:
Sergio Rodriguez
Kevin Martin
Kapono

Phili Gets:
Ray Allen

Kings Get:
Dalembert
Walker or Giddens
Boston's 1st & 2nd round picks

Isnt this exactly what all 3 teams want? Phili cap relief, Boston expiring + good SG, Kings big center that can defend? and i dont mind picking up Nocioni's contract and have the Kings take Kapono!

Ray + Scal for TMac.

Let's try to make TMac take off this season. His eagerness to get back into the game plus his talent, skills and athleticism is undeniably a risk with a great upside than letting Ray play out the remainder of the season. I feel that we are limping with Ray on-court though he has gotten great strides to stay healthy. Still we may be able to come out with a run. Further, we also get TMac's expiring contract and can reevaluate his situation at postseason.

t-mac is at best a high risk proposition.
if ainge were to trade ray for tracy the owners should take away the keys to the car.

I selected Martin because I think he is a better fit next to Pierce/Rondo with his jump shot. Also, his contract is more cap friendly than Iguodala's. I think the issue with this team is offense. Ray gets burned constantly and it doesn't seem to murder our team and Martin isn't too bad on D.

if we could hinrich and deng i'd be all over it.
if we could get nocioni and martin i'd be all over it. both will help in the long run but neither will make us contenders this year.

truth is i believe our problems this year are based on two things, the first is old legs.
the second more important problem is heart and by extension unity. ray isn't part of this problem. these three are: davis is a baby, perk is whining at rondo to give him the ball and
sheed is not interested.

baby cannot get his shot off in the low post against NBA big men. set up 15 feet out, if you find yourself under the rim pass the ball out.

perk needs to realize he is the 5th option on offence. we all admired him for being a selfless team first defensive specialist... where did that perk go?

sheed, never liked that signing. he hasn't proven me wrong.

i would propose this trade:
-perk for marc gassol. straight up. memphis gets its playoff hardened center. we get a comparable player who's ego hasn't outgown his role.
or this one:
davis, scal and house for nocioni and rodriguez
or oterhs that i've posted and will not boor you with again

put me down for iggy!  i also wouldnt mind dalembert being part of the deal.  i know his contract isnt good, but he would be a nice backup off the bench, and i think if he plays minutes with rondo, his game will benefit.

Imagine Iggy along with Paul at the wing?  No more Joe Johnson or Kobe posting up at the end of games and getting easy foul line jumpers.  Iggy would be ALL OVER that!  Paul wouldn't have to cover Lebron.  The prospect, while remote, has me giddy.  This move would put us right back up to the top.  Especially if we could get Dalembert too without giving up another core player.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I'd do Igoadala, maybe Martin. Not Hinrich, even with Salmons and Thomas.

Iguadala I guess.  None of them are really exciting to me because if we are going to be contending for titles, the team is going to be based around KG, and I'm not sure if his knee is up to the task.  Lets trade Ray for a new knee for KG.
