Folks, we're not a title team this year. We had excuses, such as injuries, but today we have nothing except a horrible defeat. Look, I know we win some and lose some, but we've been on a pattern of blowing leads and throwing games against teams we're gonna face in the playoffs. At this point, I feel we're going to need to shake things up big ways, so throw out some ideas, as long as we get to keep Rondo, I'm good! Here's some of the ideas I liked:
Perk+Ray for Iggy+Dalembert
Ray+Parts for Kevin Martin+Nocioni or a PG
Ray+House+Williams+Draft Pick(s) for Jason Richardson, Dragic, and Barbosa

Throw out some dimes

Losing Perk could affect Rondo since they are best friends. Rayplusfiller for Iggy and sammie.

Boston Gets:
Kevin Martin
Kenny Thomas
Sergio Rodriguez

Bobcats Get:
Jason Thompson
Andres Nocioni

Kings Get:
Tyson Chandler
Ray Allen
Bill Walker
1st Round from Boston
1st Round from Bobcats

Give me 1 reason why all 3 teams wouldn't pull the trigger since it does exactly what all 3 teams want! Bobcats want Thompson, Kings want a center, C's get a young SG with an expiring!

I love Rondo, but he needs to grow up if this effects him. He's an NBA all-star, and this isn't a place for diva-crap. Still, love to have Iggy here.

Love the 3 way divo0oneh suggested, as we get a replacement for Ray, and Rodriguez, who would guarantee Rondo a max of 38 minutes a game. Kenny Thomas sucks, but oh well. We may have to give up a filler to the Cats but that's fine.

Ray, BBD, Scal for Iggy and Dalembert

Best trade I've seen around.

+ our pick to Philadelphia.

Philadelphia gets expirings and keeps Iggy, Portland gets big men, and we get a fresh start.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Keep all of the starters and Daniels and TA. Don't trade BBD or Sheed unless you're getting back a better big. Don't trade Eddie unless we're getting a better backup combo guard. Look at trading the remaining players for either a backup pg or a quicker backup pf. Sign a bought out player for the vet min. Contend for a title.

I like Ray for Iguodala.  I do not want to give up Perk.  I am fine to give up just about anyone else on the bench.  I wouldn't mind seeing Kapono or Dalembert come back for some sort of filler.

I am less excited about Ray for Kevin Martin.  Even less excited about Ray for Hinrich (unless Deng is included).

Maybe Utah would send us AK 47 for some expiring contracts (but not Ray's).

Ok, all players on the team draw numbers 1-15. Then, trade players 1-5 for Lebron, if we have to we will throw in player #6, then trade 6-10 for D Howard, try to keep Rondo and trade the remaining players for either Kobe and then add players off of waivers. Laugh if you want but this is just as likely to occur as any other suggestion on this thread.

Get serious. My suggestion was much more likely than yours.

Anything with Ray for Kevin Martin.

At this point, I think KMart is a serious upgrade for now and the future.
Ray's shooting just isn't what it was.

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
You mean we are not contenders? Its only February;
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

How about Amare & J Rich for Ray Allen, BBD, Perk and a first rounder
...that would work for the C's long term, since all three of the outgoing players have to be resigned this or next year anyway, Amare would probably stay for less than a max deal, and the Suns receive two bangers down low and get to save all the money in the world.

I think everyone is looking at this all wrong. Our problem isn't at the 2 spot. It is at the big man spot. If we were able to trade Ray for a solid defensive big man we could insert Daniels into the starting 2 spot. Face it. Here are our bigs:

Injured KG who isn't half the player he was in 08

Perk who has all of a sudden become more focused on scoring in the low block than anything else in his game.

BBD who couldn't finish around the rim if his life depended on it. He has MY vertical!

Sheed who isn't in great shape and doesn't always assert himself out there like he should.

Our problem is that we don't get much out of our bigs compared to what we used to. If we don't pick up a talented big we are in trouble.
