booom here it is

PG: Jarrett Jack
SG: Stephen Jackson
SF:Shawn Marion
PF: Tim Duncan
Center Samuel Dalembert

Bench: Leandro Barbosa, Chris Duhon, Darrell Arthur (back healthy and played 20 mins in last game), Larry Hughes, Roger Mason Jr., Joel Anthony

BTW one thing I would point out before judging my team. I know we have a tendency to look at players names and remember how they used to play. Ginobli, who some may say is one of my bigger losses is averaging 13 points a game on 40% shooting. I did not know how awful he was playing until i started this draft personally.

on that same note, look at Corey Brewer, especially since mid December and from behind the arc

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Devin Harris/Will Bynum/Eric Maynor
Thabo Sefelosha/Wes Matthews
Omri Casspi/Dorrell Wright
Luis Scola/Ersan Ilyasova/Darius Songaila
Brook Lopez/David Andersen

I mean I've put that up before but if you guys wanna gush some more about how amazing my team is despite having the worse current team in the NBA, having to keep Devin Harris as one of my keepers and only getting a number 11 slot pick, and being from New Jersey (man does it stink down here...but I will say this...it seems a little less smelly in the last day...I don't know why for sure.. ;D)..well then y'all go right on ahead. you know i like your squad IP especially considering its beginings, but you dont have a scorer, which i am sure you know.  Your team is certainly better than the current nets, but cleary a team of the future

Any thoughts on the new look cats?

Was giving up Jackson to get parker create to much of a void at SG? dependent on a future trade?

I think you got ripped off :)

hehe, i think it worked out for both of us, but it does murder my depth.

I was moved to make it because i think pietrus is good enough to hold down the three and it makes my offense alot more dynamic with parker running the show while keeping my wing defense basically intact (though the loss, at least for the moment, of pietrus as a defensive jackknife off the bench does hurt me a bit).

Need to find me a SG who can play off the bench though.

That team will probably be quite good defensively but totally inept on offense

I worry about them on offense but I think totally inept is putting it a bit harsh. Casspi has shown he's a very capable scorer in a starting role, possibly the 2nd or 3rd best rookie so far this season in that regard, and one of the best long ball shooters out there this season. Scola and Lopez are both very capable scorers in the block, and Scola is also a capable passer. Devin Harris, before he had his soul crushed this season, has shown himself to be a very capable scorer with a wildly quick first step and solid playmaking abilities.

THen on the bench, Will Bynum, Wes Matthews and Ersan Ilyasova have all shown this season that they are all quite capable scorers. Flawed each in their own way, sure (Bynum-small, not good defensively, not the greatest playmaker Matthews-inexperienced Ilyasova-can't create his own shot on the perimeter), but capable.

I worry that some nights, everyone is going to go cold, and nobody will be able to jumpstart the team and put it on their shoulders, ala Paul Pierce for every year besides this one.

But if guys are playing not even well, just how they normally play..most nights I don't think scoring is going to be an issue.

you know i like your squad IP especially considering its beginings, but you dont have a scorer, which i am sure you know.  Your team is certainly better than the current nets, but cleary a team of the future

Yeah I agree I don't have a premier scorer, but I don't think that limits me as much as it might appear.

If you compare me to other teams in the east, I'm even or better defensively.

Also, besides Boston and maybe Toronto (who are luckily BOTH in my division), I don't think there is a team in the league that can stop my frontline from scoring, since you can't double off of either Scola or Lopez. Also, playing Ersan Ilyasova and Omri Casspi at the 4 allows me to really stretch the defense if I have too.

And San Antonio. Duncan/Dalembert will be slow but pretty good defensively.

I like to think I'm a top 7 team in the East. But I like to think a lot of things. I like to think that quoting movie lines from Bill Murray flicks to teach life lessons is endearing too, but nobody has ever told me I'm wrong about that.

I think you've done well with the Nets, all things considered.

I agree with the sentiment that you lack a real scorer, but i dont think that means your team will struggle to score.  You have good balance, and like you've stated, a solid D.

As for 7th in the east....not too sure.  Probably too young a team to make playoffs, and because of that youth, lacking leadership.

Still time to improve though, so no doubts you'll end up with a bottom tier playoff team when all is said and done.
