I'd say yes, although there's still work to be done:

C: Oden
PF: Brand / Charlie V.
SF: Durant
SG: TBD
PG: Westbrook

Having a couple of great big men would do Durant a world of good.  Of course, it's a real risk, but I like the way this team is shaping up.

I wnated charlie V
hes injuried but solid

P.S. Nice to see Durant and Oden together

P.S.2. this is

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
This thread is so others can critique your team, it's needs and whether or not people think it's better than before the draft.

I'll start:

1. Derrick Rose
2. Nicolas Batum
3. Danillo Gallinari
4. Emeka Okafor
5. Joakim Noah.

I'm mixed.  Okafor and Noah are two classic "lane cloggers"; I'm not sure how they'll work on offense, especially with a poor shooting PG.  I'm not sure what to think of Batum and Gallinari.  However, Rose is the real deal.

  • Basketball is Newtonian Physics
TBD
Kobe
Turk
Gasol
Gortat

vs.

Fisher
Kobe
Artest
Gasol
Bynum

Have to say before because of Bynum.  I picked to far down to match the talent and size of a Bynum.

I think I made the Sixers a lot better:

PG: J Nelson
SG: J.R. Smith
Sf: TBD
PF:Jameson
C:Speights-only real question mark out of my starters but think he will do fine

Sixth Man: Jamal Crawford...wont be asked to do anything more than what he is doing in Atlanta

So what do you guys think?

Any thoughts on mine?

I approve. Obviously a much, much stronger front court. I'm not sure Okafor can play at the pace that best suits Rose, Gallinari and Noah.

On the wing, Danilo gives the Bulls the long range threat they lost in letting Ben Gordon walk, but suffers defensively in comparison to Deng.

I like Nic a lot and was hoping he was off other GMs' radars but I'm not sure that he's a natural 2 or how he compares to Hinrich.

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
Memphis 2.0

PG: Calderon
SG: Mayo
SF: Pierce
PF: Landry
C:  Gasol

I'd like to think it's better, but the x-factor is the swap of Landry for Randolph. Somehow the real Grizz have thrived with 3 guys who need the ball in their hands to be the most effective...what happens when you take the most productive of those 3 away? Aside from a defensive improvement...
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

I think so so far

PG: Ty Lawson vs Chris Duhon
SG: Ray Allen vs Danilo Gallinari
SF: Ron Artest vs Wilson Chandler
PF: Zach Randolph vs Jared Jeffries
C: David Lee vs David Lee

Lawson doesn't have quite the pro experience Duhon has but has vast potential as in 22 MPG he already outscores and outrebounds Duhon who plays 9 minutes more per game and is an all around better shooter and is a born leader

Very little Lawson doesn't do exceptionally well

Ray is better than Gallinari short term and expires leaving lots of cap space for LeBron

Artest and Chandler are probably a wash but Artest has so much big game experience that come playoffs Artest would be the more valuable player

Randolph is tons better than Jeffries

Lee is Lee
Pick 2 Knicks

PG: George Hill, Ty Lawson
SG: Ray Allen, Anthony Parker, Quentin Richardson
SF: Grant Hill, Matt Barnes, D
PF: Zach Randolph, Kenyon Martin, Jon Brockman, Dante Cunningham
C:  Nene Hilario,   Own rights: Nikola Pekovic IR: Kyle Weaver

Probably true. But I like Hedo in the triangle (and the locker room) far better than Artest. And as badly as Fisher has struggled at times this season (Shannon Brown is closing out some close games?!) I still think you have a shot to come out ahead. (Then again, replacing your 6th man Lamar "Maybe I'm better than Granger" Odom is going to be tough too.)

Agreed. Definitely better built to win now than today's Knicks.

Are the team's to be judged solely on current ability?

Or current ability + potential? Whether they have room for enough internal growth to develop into (hopefully) a contender down the road (if not already)?

Here's my team, the Brooklyn - least picks in the league! - Draft Dodgers.

PF Michael Beasley with a different hair cut
SF Quentin Richardson replacement to be named. (We hope not by Quentin Richardson...)
C Al Horford
SG Dwayne Wade in glasses
PG Jonny Flynn

I've already admitted I've felt like I was playing with house money. But will be fun to see if I still manage to lose my shirt.
