I love Rondo and i am also a rondo apologist who thinks he is on his way to superstar status.. I think point guards of his elk are very few and far between and that he is a great building block for the future BUT

does anybody think after the comments that are coming out that maybe rondo is a knucklehead? This is the only part of me that worries about him, and i hope that it was just pure frustration speaking on his part

He has proven to be a bit outspoken on occasion but that just seems to be a part of his character.  We also have to remember that he's still awfully young.

Think its just part of the package you get with him.  You read reports that he's ultracompetitve to the point of perhaps being overfocused.  Some might see that as a flaw.

I don't think that shows him to be a knucklehead, just a leader that is aware of the problems we all see.

I think, for the most part, he's speaking of the bench, which makes sense if you think about it.

TA is playing for a contract (agenda, although certainly helping us at the moment), Baby has been outspoken about his belief that he should be more highly regarded by the team and feels snubbed by the offseason (agenda) sheed never seems to truly be all thier (agenda) ect, ect.

Note that (aside from wallace's pronounced lack of intrest in non-playoffesq games) not all of those are unexpected.

But, the point remains, that first year, the bench was one solid unit. They all gave maximum effort and put team first.

I'm not sure that's true of this years bench, at all times.

Ray Allen has hinted towards the same things happening. I don't know who it is but someone (or multiple people) aren't looking at this in the right way.

You can see it on the bench lately, when the team comes into a timeout everybody isn't there greeting them. It's like Billy Walker, Scal, TA, and Eddie... then everybody else is just milling around.

in my opinion, these comments take away from rondo's past reputation for being a knucklehead.  I see it as showing some leadership qualities that he once appeared to lack
Looking for a Sig designer....obviously i will be greatful with tps.

Looking for a Wire - Rondo theme....PM with ideas and I'll tp

I am glad SOMEONE on the team is standing up and having questions.  I don't care how young rondo is he is a LEADER.  Rajon is doing a good job of publicly calling out his teammate(s) without naming them.  I assume anyone associated with the team knows exactly who he is referring to but the public doesn't get to know that rondo is miffed at mr. (fill in blank)
I'm guessing its rasheed, eddie and davis , one or all

It's not against ubuntu. Ubuntu is about working as one cohesive unit, which that team had down to a science.

It doesn't follow that unbuntu advocate turning a blind eye to players not doing that and pretending there conduct doesn't exist as a form of self deception.

I don't know. I never like to hear about potential locker-room tensions but on the other hand it doesn't sound like something extremely serious.

I think we should have expected such a reaction, and such quotes, after all the Celtics struggles this past month. And frankly, the situation could have been really, really worse (players pointing at each other, no more passing between player X and Y etc).

So I like the fact that Rondo is concerned and wants to fix the problem but it would be better if he did it privately. And he probably did.

And maybe we are overreacting to his quotes once again, who knows?

I don't know, rondo, paul and ray didn't throw anyone under the bus.

But if you wanted my admittedly uninformed opinion of who don't give 100% or play as part of the team concept (particularly on defense) every night for the good of the team that they might be hinting at, it goes:

Sheed, by far
Eddie
Baby

actually rondo is talking about teammate(s) going against the ubuntu philosophy, guys playing for themselves, stats or contracts instead of doing what is best for the team
Pierce has been great about it imo, we need more rebounding he does it, his scoring is around 18 but his game (mainly) is well within the team game, his d has picked up and he's been playing banged up, i doubt its pp that rondo is talking about, sheed on the other hand..

I agree, I think people are wayyy overreacting to these quotes...I remember Ray and Perk both said something similar to this a little while ago, so I'm sure these things are being discussed in the locker room. (Or not, no one knows for sure).

I didn't have any problem with what Rondo said, and I think it shows maturity, not a lack of it.
