“The reports are way premature,” Ainge said. “I know all of this was started because of some Twitter post from Shelden and people are worried but we don’t know anything yet. I don’t know where (being broken) came from. I don’t have the information on what’s wrong with Paul’s foot yet.”

i think that twitter should be disallowed by athletes...  what shelden did was stupidly premature (as did fat glen when he was griping about his contract).  the front office should make all official announcements, not the players.  just my opinion...

If I remember correctly, Baby's twitter was actually a fake account...

I don't believe it, if I see him with the team, I'll be happy and confident in the information he's OK. Now I just don't believe it and I think that Danny Ainge just try to cover things up for a little to buy some time to find a trade for Ray Allen, because if other GM's know that Pierce is injured, maybe Danny thinks other GM's will play extortion mode, and block deals on Ray Allen, or at least they won't give up so much when they know Ainge is against the wall on trading Allen

I believe he'll be fine..may miss a few games or so. There is a rumor that he may not have broken his foot as previously reported.

I'd check back periodically on the main Blog page for the latest news on Pierce.

While they certainly downplayed KG's injury last year, I really don't think they would list Pierce as day to day if this was something that threatened his season.

No Shelden is not in trouble. I think people are just too worried, that anything someone posts from the C's they feel is related to pierce's injury. If pierce is injured that means more BILL WALKER!!! :o ;D

"Reports are way premature." Well, give us some information Danny. We all know Pierce has gotten all the tests done already, yet the best Celtic fans can be given is, "I don't know the extent of the injury." The Celtics are alienating their fans. Oh yeah, Sheldon Williams might as well be fined and then cut.

BG - Ainge relieved Pierce has only foot strain

"...

It turns out that Paul Pierce has just a mid-foot strain and is listed as day-to-day and president Danny Ainge didn't rule out the possibility of Pierce playing Wednesday night against Miami, although it appears unlikely.

The Celtics medical staff reviewed Pierce's X-rays and MRI and determined that his left foot wasn't broken, as had been feared earlier. According to team sources, the Celtics thought Pierce may be out several weeks after bending the foot awkwardly after being landed on by Washington's Caron Butler in the first quarter of the 99-88 win Monday over the Wizards.

"We were concerned after watching the injury and seeing the soreness on Paul's foot this morning and what it looked like on TV," Ainge told the Globe on Tuesday night. "I was worried, so I was very relieved to hear it was a sprained mid foot and that he'll be back soon."

BOSTON (AP) -- The Boston Celtics say Paul Pierce has a sprained left foot and is listed as day-to-day.

Pierce was hurt Monday during the first quarter of the Celtics' 99-88 victory at Washington. He scored 12 points in 28 minutes before sitting out the final period.

The All-Star forward and MVP of the 2008 NBA finals leads the Celtics with 18.9 points per game.

Boston, which has struggled with injuries this season, most notably to Kevin Garnett, hosts Miami on Wednesday night.

Funny, this is less serious than the knee infection yet do to recklessness of current journalism several Celtics fans almost went off the Tobin and Zakim Bridges earlier today

Good to here that our season is still intact as are several of our fans

After the KG debacle, I, personally, will never trust the Celtics with an injury again.
