After having seen Mike Miller healthy, would you try and engineer a trade for him?

I think he's the best Ray Allen replacement in the league.  He's just as deadly a shooter off the catch and spotting up (not quite as dangerous on the drive with the little rainbow pull-up Ray has), he's a very good rebounder, and he can run a pick and roll much better than Ray in addition to moving the ball better in general.

Doc loved having him in Orlando and I'm sure he's got his crosshairs on him.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

If it meant you could get your hands on Blatche, then yes. Ray, baby for Miller, Butler, Blatche, or something.

I've liked Blatche for a few seasons, and he's finally shaping up. Still very young, too.

His contract is expiring as well, so I'm not sure I'd trade for him.  I think he'd be a target with the MLE this summer, though.

Perfect idea.

If we get Caron Butler and Blatche or Foye in the deal as well, then yes, I'd probably do it.

No way man... The only reason to trade Ray is get quality players from a team looking to dump salary, that has agreed to buyout Ray's contract so he'll come back to the C's in April. Thats It! other than that I would never trade Ray, unless it means we're getting a big time player in exchange. ;) All the Celtics need is a back-up PG that can create his own shot, penetrate and hit the long 3 pointer (Lester Hudson ::)) We should've kept him and traded Eddie, & Scalabrine for a decent player (http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yfoe6c9), but now we're in a man hunt looking for a combo guard. We need to Fire Danny and Hire Me!!!! ;D

ray for caron...now that'd be a trade. but i doubt it'd happen, unless the wiz are really looking to dump salary.

I never was a big fan of Butler. He plays like a slower Paul Pierce. And, considering how slow Pierce can be these days, that's not too good.

they are.

i'd be much more interested in the prospect of getting Caron if he could shoot a 3 pointer

If Mike Miller can stay healthy, he would be perfect.  He can slide right into Ray's role, but he adds some rebounding, and younger legs.

The deal that I think is perfect (and realistic) would be a three-way deal with Ray going to Washington along with Al Thornton, Butler going to LA, and Miller and Camby going to Boston.

Mike Miller has great skills.  Beautiful shot, incredible handle for his size.  But I don't think I'd trust him in big situations like Ray.  I have a feeling Miller might wilt under pressure.
Not 100% sold on Butler as his replacement either, but I absolutely love his toughness.  We aren't a tough team and Butler or Hinrich would certainly help in that department.

Gee, just what need.  Let's get even older and slower.

At least Miller cut his hair so that he doesn't look like French pimp.
