I really think if we lose on Sunday there will be a change within a week to 10 days with the Celtics. This would show that we lost to not 1 not 2 but 3 contenders and perhaps we don't have the fire power to contend right now with the team assembled as is. Although I think this team will win come Sunday but if they don't I am expecting something to happen a bit of a shakeup which I would be all for because, I believe there should be a change and defiantly if we lose something needs to change. Just a gut feeling anyone else having that feeling?

I don't hope so.

We've shown (in spurts) that we can be the best team out there. We just haven't closed out at all, but for short stretches, several quarters, we've shown what we can do. We lack consistency, not skill.

there may or may not be a move made before the deadline, but I would hope it wouldn't be a reactionary move based on 3 games in an 82 game regular season

I think every team in the league can make that claim. Basketball is, after all, a game of runs and spurts.

at this point a loss wouldnt concern me....a blow out however would be devistating. I get the impression Danboy is waivering right now even though doc "says" he likes this team. I will say this: if we play an uncompetive game against the Lakeshow, I'm putting the Onis on Doc here.  He's gotta show tough love if players arent doing what theyre supposed to do<i.e. strategic benching > If sheed doesnt stay in the post 80%<where he's a MONSTER by the way>, if rajon dissappears...BENCH<then bring em back later>.  if you gotta call more frequent timeouts--so be it. No more star treatment here.  I dont' get the impression Doc is coachin like his life is depending on it. I'll get on some  80's pistons punishing teams/pressing--something/anything.  What good is a trade if the mentality is not there....

I agree, except for the benching Rondo part, only because we have no one to put in for him ( House sucks as a pg).

I believe if we lose on Sunday it proves we have no heart and have lost our hunger for another banner. That alone would be reason to shake things up.

I have to agree with this original post.  Danny is watching and analyzing much more than many on this board want to accept and realize.  We lose Sunday and we will make at least one trade and perhaps two by the deadline.  We will then pick up a bought out veteran in early March.

I like the way we played last two games, and I think in next two or three games we will be the 08/09 Celitcs with Sheed on the bench

if this team has any heart or any pride then they will man up and play well tomorrow...if they dont they will go quietly into the night and I will know all i need to about this version of the celtics.

You liked the way we blew and 16 point lead in Orlando? You like how we could turn a 9 point 1st quarter lead into a 12 point deficit at halftime? hmm?

Sheed hasn't exactly been a good thing this year.  His FG%s have tanked despite playing less minutes alongside better players, his defense has been slow, his rebounding has been average at best.

In response to the OP, if we lose on Sunday it will be one loss closer to mediocrity.  We've been playing sub .500 ball for a month now.  Definitely the worst stretch of ball in the Kg/Ray era.

The longer the team goes without reestablishing excellence, the more Danny has to think about making changes to do it for them.  It doesn't help our various trade bait players that this prolonged funk is taking place in the period leading up to the trading deadline on the eve of the most anticipated FA class in years.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler
