But win or lose, the issue is what Ainge is going to do to change this team, because it has gotten old in a hurry and needs an infusion of youth and energy.  And please, I'm NOT talking about Bill Walker.
What they need is someone who can come in and provide the equivalent of a healthy Leon Powe defensively and off the boards.  I can't emphasize enough how badly Sheed is killing this team right now.  And I don't mean his missed 3's.  They are consistently getting outworked up front.

Sheed has been better then Powe ever was on defense.

Celtics need leadership to step up and lead this team for 48 minutes.  Not 36 minutes, 24 minutes or just 12 minutes.  Step up and lead this team for the full 48 minutes.  (this is not on just one player, but all the team leaders)

Disagree.  He's certainly capable of being good, and at times has shown flashes, but it speaks to your 2nd point. Leon gave you everything he had whenever he was out there.  Sheed gives you everything he has about 25% of the time -- or maybe that 'inconsistency' (or lack of effort depending on your point of view) is a function of his age.

But what Leon delivered is what's missing and Sheed's the biggest culprit for that.

BTW I'm talking the current version of Sheed.  The In His Prime Sheed was someone Celtics teams just couldn't match up with for years.  I'm not denying that he was at one time a top level NBA player.

Powe was never that good of a defender.  He was often out of position.

Wallace has already shown to be a better defender.

You can't get the full 48 minutes from your starters (especially not KG anymore), even if you're in the playoffs.  Our problem has been getting 12-18 good minutes out of our bench players, or 20-30 good minutes in injury situations.  Sheed, Eddie, Baby and Scal have been genuinely bad offensively, and their defense/intangibles have definitely not made up for it.  Since Daniels went out, TA has been the only solid bench player, and we all know how much we can depend on him.

This team is too heavily dependent on the starters to be brilliant every night, and KG and Ray are showing how hard that is for them at this stage of their careers.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

there may or may not be a move made before the deadline, but I would hope it wouldn't be a reactionary move based on 3 games in an 82 game regular season

3 games? Hahahahahaha! We've lost games even to poor teams! I really hope we lose against L.A., because I want a change ASAP.

I don't expect anyone to play 48 minutes.

I expect that the team leaders (there should be three) to lead this team from beginning to end.

Hey, yes we did lose last two games and yes we blew some leads, but that has happened all season long.
I like our defense for most part of both games witch looked a lot like our 08/09 team when you saw a hand in every jumpshot opp. team took. And that is something I haven't saw this season.
People need to understand it is not all about winning
Mavs had a 68 win season and fell apart against Warriors. It's the way your team gets the win that counts more than W itself.
I got a question, is a bad W(say nearly blown 30 point lead)better than a L(when your going point for point whole game)?(regular season)
what doesn't kill you makes you stronger

If we lose today... we'll be underestimated for the rest of the season.

Good.

Yeah, kind of what I thought. I want teams to underestimate us, but I guess that will never really happen... because we're BOSTON!

Yep. We won't be a true underdog. We can be underestimated though.

is it possible that Daniels is more important to this team than we ever imagined? i will be interested to see their production when he returns  vs while he is out. he would def. be helpful
