don't worry about taking on additional salary.  Do Ray for Iggy and Brand.   I know what you're thinkin... that's way too much to be paying Brand (or Dalembert) to come off the bench.   But you're neglecting to factor in the possibility KG retires by the end of the year.

That's too much to be paying Brand even if he's a starter. Brand's salary on it's own mught be too much to pay for Brand and Iggy.

If KG retires, the salary becomes even worse.  Clogs up the teams ability to move forward.

Ray Allen + Kendrick Perkins for Andre Iguodala + Samuel Dalembert

Including Perk would reduce a lot of the financial burdens for next season.

That's a decent trade for both teams.

I think the uncertainty about the next CBA can curb that kind of trades though.

Boston trades Ray, Scals, Davis and Perk
for Luke Ridnour, Iggy, Brand

Phila trades Brand and Iggy
for Ray, Perk

Waukee trades Ridnour
for Davis and Scals

Philly gets big time cap savings, plus a real solid young big man

Waukee gets an expiring and an overweight bab... I mean solid young big man for their second string PG.

Boston gets younger, more athletic and andresses their backup PG needs

Yea? Yea

We can't have a starting back court without a major three point threat. And i know that Andre can shoot a good percentage... but its two players that you just take away 90% of their effectiveness by forcing the jump shot.

I give you one name: Paul Pierce

He would be in the front court.

Would Philly do Jeff's initial proposal you think: Iggy + Kapono for Ray (with maybe a future pick thrown in)?

That would obviously be my preference, but I'd do Ray for Iggy at just about any price.

Iggy's that good.  Can play the 1-3 very well, an underrated shooter, fantastic defender, great rebounder, great ballhandler, one man fast break.  He's the most versatile athletic wing in the league after LeBron.

Rondo/Iggy/Pierce is fantastic defensively and dynamic offensively.

Didn't Philly refuse to trade Iverson to us because we were in the same division though?

I would cry tears of joy if Ray became Iguodala.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I don't care how it gets done, but a deal including Ray and Iggy would be a HUGE boost for our team going forward...

Yeah, honestly if we could make Ray turn into Iguodala I would accept it even if it meant Perkins were replaced with Sammy Dalembert.

Andre Iggs could have defended Joe Johnson down the stretch, and maybe given him some fits of his own.

I'd do it... But not if we had to give up Perk for Dalembert.

Honestly it's still a net plus in terms of talent for this year and the fact that Dalembert expires after next season means we'd at least have a nice big expiring to trade for another young piece moving forward.
