Tuning into this game and hearing Gary Tanguay taking over for Gorman made me instantly lose all interest in watching this game.  I wanted to watch this game, but I just could not.

Tanguay has ZERO flow for the game and his calls are just horrendous.  I understand that he was just a 1 game fill in(hopefully) and that I should probably cut this guy some slack, but I just cannot.  Tommy did not even want to be there, you could tell just by how lethargic and uninterested he was.  With the way the Celtics played this game too, I think they were a little annoyed that Mikey G. was not there to call the game.

Am I the only one who thought Gary Tanguay was trying to do a two hour impersonation of Barry White? I am pretty sure Tanguay had lowered his voice by 5 octaves in order to accomplish that feat, but why? that was not his normal voice.

I will say that I watched, collectively, 1 quarter of this game, and that might be an over estimation.  I blame it all on CSN and their poor, poor choice of Tanguay for a day.  They should have called the Cous and let him do this game. Or hell, they could have even called me.

Please Comcast, for the sake of viewership and our sanity, do not ever do that to us again.  Please, never, never, never, again.

-Thank you

It was beyond pathetic.  I truly recommend all Celtics fans complaining directly to CSNNE like I did:

Don't you have a mute button?  I always hit it whenever Dickerson or Tanguay is speaking.

Next thing you know, Dickerson will win T-Mobile announcer of the month.

I was out watching it at a bar so I didn't hear anything, was there a reason why Gorman wasn't doing it?

yeah he was bad, but gary's my dude.  i give him props for taking a shot on the biggest stage. can anyone call a game...no.  can someone with practice and a good tutor get it down....yeah.  it aint rocket science. gary was too busy trying to interact with tommy instead of narrating the minutia.  I noticed a lotta pregnant pauses-----all that not withstanding, if you can't stand the call, mute the tv and turn on the radio....case closed-

Yeah, listening to Gary call the game is pretty excruciating.  I'd rather listen to two half-drunk guys at a bar with minimal knowledge of the Celtics discuss what's going on in the game than listen to Tanguay and Tommy have one long awkward conversation all game long.

I would MUCH prefer to have Dickerson calling the game.  Seriously.

I actually like Dickerson.  He seems kinda dopey but he's a nice guy and you can tell he tries hard.  Tanguay just seems like a pompous winEdited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline..

That's the important question here. Sure Tanguay made us all want to vomit in our own mouths a little bit, but let's just focus/hope that everything is A-OK with Mr. Gorman.

BTW that Tanguay abomination page is hilarious.

On a side note my girlfriend actually made a comment about the announcing and how it was "different in a bad way" ;)

Good win tonight & GO C'S!

The one good thing is hearing less Heinson.

I watched the first half at home, and yeah it was painful.  Then I took a drive for the 3rd and listened to Grand and Max on the ride, the difference was remarkable.  I felt I had a much better sense of what was going on without the aid of the visuals than I ever did watching it on TV.

Mike Gorman is like Rondo, the most irreplaceable guy on the announcing team.  Seriously, when are they going to get their act together at CSN and get some talent in there to pass the torch to?   :-\

You didn't watch the game because Gary Tanguay was doing the announcing... I'm not gonna lie that's pretty pathetic(trying to say it in the nicest way possible)...

Like dasandruler said you could have just muted it and put on the radio while watching the game, or just muted it and watched the game.

I thought Gary was fine. Of course, Mike Gorman is Mike Gorman, but in his absence Tanguay did a credible job.

In any case, this was much better than the "why-not" game  ;D

Did anyone see the flashback to 2006 when the Celts lost 18 in a row.  Tanguay was announcing the game where they snapped the losing streak.  He kept saying during the game "Why not". lol

Tanguay was awful, but he was only filling in for Gorman.  Gorman will be back.  I can tolerate Tanguay for one game.

Unfortunately for me, turning the game to mute and tuning into WEEI is not an option.  I live in Central CT where the reception is very spotty at best.  Also, I was not going to mute the game and watch it in silence.  So I was out of luck.  I chose instead to just flipping it between commercial breaks in 24 and Syracuse Timeouts.

Lets just hope Mike Gorman is okay so we do not have one giant group of bleeding ears.
