The Cleveland Cavaliers select Baron Davis

And just like that Cleveland becomes the best team currently in the draft.

Excellent pick.

I really don't like the combo of Diddy and LeBron.

I can see that POV, because as WD said, Baron needs the rock in his hands..but as said because Mo Williams is a significant downgrade from Lebron, and we have seen how much difference that made last year.

I think Baron gets a bad rap that is only mostly deserved. He's always played well when it mattered (I don't mean clutch I mean when on a team that took themselves seriously), and LeBron guarantees a playoff spot, and probably a first round win.

I think Baron would be on his best behavior if he had LeBron on his team...I mean it's not like anyone is going to get confused as to who is actually running the show.

One of the posters here was talking about adding these Mock Rosters to his NBA 2K10 Simulation Season..just to see how it played out.

Whoever that was, i'd be willing to toss him a TP or two to see how this Draft plays out...by the time I'm done, my Mavs are a sleeper.

I said that after the summer draft and spent a few hours doing it then stopped. It is freaking time consuming. Very much so.

People's opinion of Lebron James on this board (during this and the last CBlog Draft) is unbelievable. (sorry KC hate to shoot the messenger but have been feeling this way for a while).

Look at who James plays with - Mo Williams, the Ghost of Shaq, Big Z's corpse and a bunch of nobodys.... AND Cleveland is has the best record in the NBA!

I hate to have to say it but, Lebron is THE BEST PLAYER IN THE NBA TODAY -- and HAS BEEN FOR 2-3 YEARS (even though KG shoulda been the MVP 3 years ago).

And like the transendently great players --- Bird, Magic, Jordan, et al. -- he both (a) makes the guys around him better and (b) can play with any style player and fit with them.

Is there any evidence that he can't play with Baron Davis, Jason Richardson, etc?!?!?

IMO, this is just crazy. Every other team should have to prove why they can beat any team with Lebron.

That was my guy. Good pick.

And the fact that he was a SF with the Lebron team coming up allowed me to wait to see if the possible trade could be closed.

It didn't, so the Pigs took the best fit with a high skill level.

Wow. I got here 30 minutes too late to pull off a sweet trade to nab Baron.

Oh well, Plan B it is.

They seem to think Vince was going to be a better fit.

Or will you use the "TURKEYGLUE" (Turkoglu) to glue the lips of "The Lama" (Gasol) together or to glue the alleged rapists (Kobe's) zipper up ?

As for the Lebron/Baron Davis controversy. Davis is a 1st round talent, but I'm undecided as to whether he's a major improvement over Mo Williams.

He's a lousy 3PT shooter in love with the 3PT shot; much like James, himself, (or my namesake...). When Cleveland has struggled this season it's often been because of a lack of shooters to stretch the floor. And Mike Brown's offensive game plan could bring out the worst in Baron.

But I wouldn't agree that's he over-rated. He's unreliable.

(On defense though he has the strength and quickness to be a menace.)
