I must say I'm disappointed in how the Cavs played, Lebron wins player of the month for every month but team ends up 11th in the East, yeesh.
Someone needs to explain to me how LeBron wins player of the month every month yet doesn't win MVP. As a matter of fact, I don't remember Dirk winning even one Player of the Week Award, never mind Player of the Month Award. How can you not win a Player of the Week or Month Award but win MVP?

Is that even possible in today's game in real life?

Yeah ... the LeBron thing seems a bit odd to me, too, though I'm not much of an expert when it comes to video game applications such as these.

I must say, though, while I was doing the Team Roster Write-Ups, that almost every team to a man, was an improvement over what the real team had before.

It's amazing to me that a bunch of blog schmucks like us can have this simple game of player re-distribution, and come up with a vastly improved NBA.

That in itself poses an endless series of questions and "what-ifs" ... mostly about who's minding the store, and how they re-stock the shelves. ;)
Yeah, but you know what Bahku, we don't have to cater and manage these guys. That has to be tough. Imagine if Donnie Walsh just absolutely despised LeBron James, he couldn't be able to stand him. But he knows without a doubt that the best thing for the Knicks is to sign him at all costs.

That could be tough.

I also think if this was a keeper league and we suddenly had to play by the rules of the CBA regarding trades and signing free agents, our world would get a lot more difficult.

Come to think of it, that might be a nice way to continue this endeavor. Make it a keeper league where we do have to work by the rules of the CBA. All free agents will be assigned to the teams they sign with at the money they signed but can then be traded or kept if the team wishes. This would be the one exception to the CBA rules. We can do our own draft lottery using the ESPN draft lottery game by assigning teams to the teams that already exist in the slots that exist

For instance our Warriors would equal the Nets. Our T-Wolves would equal, well, the real life T-Wolves. Our Celtics would equal the real life Warriors and so on. The draft lottery is held and then we could have a draft of incoming players. They are assigned their contracts and we could do another sim next year around the same time.

Or next year just do another whole pick two draft.

I like both ideas, actually (TP). Gotta say, this was a heckuva lot of fun, and a TP to Roy for such a great idea ... I think maybe this will be a new tradition here at CB. It's hard to deny that we seriously upgraded the NBA almost to a team, just by simple redistribution. Can't wait for the next one ... theoretically we could have more than one/year, though that's adding a lot to the schedule of people like Roy, who are already extremely busy. ;)

Thanks for the stats, riah!

Clearly, the computer criminally underrates the Thunder:

Player   PPG   ORPG   RPG   APG   SPG   BPG   TOPG
Durant   19.9   2   9.1   1.3   2   1   2.1
Westbrook   15.6   1.1   2.7   7.9   1.4   0.1   2.4
Villanueva   10.9   1.2   5.2   0.7   0.2   0.6   1.2
Brand   9.7   1.8   7.4   1.4   0.2   1.3   1.4
Blatche   8.4   1.3   4.8   0.7   0.6   1   1
Beaubois   6.9   0   0.6   1.5   0.2   0.1   1.3
Morrow   6   0.4   2.4   1   1   0   1
Garcia   5.2   0.3   0.9   0.7   0.6   0.6   1

Clark   2.6   0.5   0.5   0.5   0.1   0.4   0.4
Harrison   1.8   0.7   0.7   0.4   0   0.3   0.4

Durant, with less than 20 ppg?  Only two players at more than 15 ppg?  Morrow at only 6 ppg?  Ouch.

Riah, I'd like to see my teams stats if/when you have a chance. Even after the fact.

Also if you'd slightly bump up the minutes of D-League call up extraordinaire, Anthony Tolliver, at the expense of Smith, Brown and Jones; I'd appreciate it.

Thanks again. Tommy Points to come.

Hornets CRUSHING the Mavs in Dallas - who says they're playing for next year?? (ok, so I did, repeatedly)  Wonder how good they'd be if Yao had been made active.

The computer has simulated a lot of silly results.

I do appreciate the effort and giving this game a second life though!
