Well the sixers are happy to select Martell Webster .

I like Martell, and he definitely fits a position of need for you.

I envision him more of a 2/3 than a full-time 3, though. You've got some gunners on your team, that's for sure: Nelson, Smith, Crawford, and Webster.

New Orleans selects Boris Diaw

A very good pick up, somebody that ought to have gone last round; he's a versatile, if not reliable, scorer and great passing forward and is capable of defending multiple positions. Though often too passive and a surprisingly poor free throw shooter.

Though I wouldn't expect that his numbers will improve much, other than a slight dip in FG% he's putting up stats very close to his career averages. His great secon-half in Charlotte last season was probably a high-water mark.

Well, this is the final year of his current contract, and he turns 35 in June.

Maybe he gets a one-year deal next year as a free agent. That's assuming he still wants to play.

Don't say I never did anything for you Riah.

"I'm going to play next year,'' Ilgauskas, 34, said after Cleveland's morning shootaround in preparation for a game against Denver. "I realize I've got a lot of good basketball left in me.''

In the preseason, Ilgauskas was unsure how his health would be. He's battled foot injuries his entire career, and regularly has to soak in ice for long stretches. But Ilgauskas said he's felt good this season.

"I feel like I'm having fun,'' he said. "I'm healthy. So why not (play next season)? I'll get to do nothing the rest of my life.''

Still I don't like the trade much. Speights is a lousy decision-maker but will board, has a beautiful stroke for a big man, and is more than a decade younger. Why so hot to sell low on him?

In his defense, riah's been shopping Speights since the first round. I think a 4th is about right.

Although, I think the better play would have been to protect Dalembert from the outset. Would rather have Sam than Z.

I hope not. I paid a mid-4th, mid-6th for a low-3rd, low-9th.

I encouraged him to protect Brand, who you'll notice was drafted in the early part of the 2nd round. But, yes, the idea is the same. Why protect Speights?
