the thing is danny should have known the injury history of a guy like daniels...he has missed a ton of games each year...they put so much into daniels (PG. wing) that when he went down...the Cs bench got sunk...and i still have a hard time grasping the feeling that this team is ever going to be 100 percent healthy this season. i think there will be someone important who is always injured for this team. trade the spare parts for someone that can help.

Well, right now, their other top bench player is playing with the starters as well.  Even though Wallace has some flaws, having him as a 6th man is huge, and would do wonders for this bench.  Even without Daniels in there, a bench of House, Tony Allen, Glen Davis, and Rasheed Wallace is one of the best in the league.  One of House, Tony Allen, Glen Davis, and Brian Scalabrine is not.

I disagree that House, TA and Baby represent one of the best benches in the league. Sheed is a good bench player. Daniels is a good bench player. But between their own health, RW's techs, and injuries to starters, they -- as you say -- don't constitute a bench. If 1 or 2 of our top 7 are going to be injured or out throughout the year, then 8-12 is our bench. And they're bad like they were last year.

This team dies when the second unit hits the floor. They can't score, can't defend. Dreaming of the Cs flipping some switch of productivity and health is not an appropriate way to chase a championship. Again like last year, the bench's flaws will lead to more minutes for tired starters, which will lead to exhaustion and injury.

I'm sure Ainge is exhausting our possibilities to improve the team, thankfully. If the Celtics can parley House, Scal and change or TA, Scal and change into a more legitimate offensive threat -- a player who can actually create his own shot -- they absolutely need to do it.

The thing is, the Celtics do terrible in the 3rd quarter, when the starters are in. What is this about the bench? Last night, the Celtics were up by 8 at the half, then the Pistons outscored them 21-13 in the 3rd quarter and the game was tied going into the 4th. How do the starters only get 13 points in the 3rd quarter?! THEN there were only 17 points in the 4th...yeah, some of that's on the bench, but the starters get equal blame.

Against the Mavs on Monday, they were up by 9 at half, and then were blown out 34-18 in the 3rd quarter. How can you give up 34 points in the 3rd quarter after only giving up 41 FOR THE ENTIRE FIRST HALF? One reason definitely was Rasheed having to come out with his 4th foul, and Dirk thus being free to do whatever he wanted. That's why Sheed criticized the refs. Doc mentioned that 4th foul on Sheed hurt us, too.

Same thing even happened against the Hawks, the last time we played them. We're up 9 at half, then get outscored 31-25 in the 3rd quarter, giving up 31 points after only surrendering 46 in the 1st half. This was Jan 11.

Jan 8, same team, same story. We're up 6 on the Hawks at halftime, and get outscored 29-15 in the 3rd.

We need to fix our 3rd quarter problems. Maybe they're fixed with KG, maybe not. But for the most part, I'm tired of seeing 1st half leads getting blown night in and night out.

not a good sign for this deal, if you can take walsh at his word.

salvage what season? They have been trying to prepare for this summer's FA class for as long as anyone.

I have to admit, it's really "TheHoopsforum" (aka Marlon Benjamin, check the website on the twitter profile) against everyone on the chances this deal will happen. Doc, Nate's agent, and Nate say they have "no knowledge" (which with all due respect doesn't fit my definition of "denying"), and Walsh says he's not interested in trades.

I'm more than willing to put this to bed for now until this guy gives us this update he said he would "shortly".

Did he say there is more news to come or is he just keeping this thing going?

Agree, thehoopsforum keeps saying he will have some news "shortly" and "soon" but nothing is coming.

Plus, it just mentioned the Tony Parker for CP3 deal offered by the Spurs like it was breaking news, and yet, we heard about this story like 2 weeks ago.

I think nothing will happen with Nate (I changed the thread's title by the way).

TP for the find!

I guess Danny "lowballed" them. Too bad Nate had a big game just a few days after because the way the article is written, it makes you think the Knicks could have accepted...
