i believe it's impossible for the Cs to trade for nate straight up due to his BYC status. He would need to be part of a larger pacakge in order for the numbers would work.

so it would need to include duhon or jeffries or the like...

Since minimum salaries can be used to offset some of the BYC a trade that works is Boston sending Tony Allen and Shelden Williams and New York sending Nate Robinson and Marcus Landry

Pick 2 Knicks

PG: George Hill, Ty Lawson
SG: Ray Allen, Anthony Parker, Quentin Richardson
SF: Grant Hill, Matt Barnes, D
PF: Zach Randolph, Kenyon Martin, Jon Brockman, Dante Cunningham
C:  Nene Hilario,   Own rights: Nikola Pekovic IR: Kyle Weaver

good point. i'd give you a TP but you seem to be at a 7 to 1 ratio compared to posts. that's pretty high. whatever, i'll give you one anyway.

If we are going to eat Jeffries contract to be able to take Nate, we should push for Wilson Chandler to ease the pain. The Knicks want expirings badly.

Can anyone work out a trade on trade-checker that will give them our expirings and maybe BBD for that package. Would the Knicks bite?

Didn't you hear? Marbury is in China, playing at $25K a game or something.

Based on our reluctance to take on Nocioni, there's no way the Celtics are going to take on Jeffries's contract.  Just too much tax money.

If we trade for Nate, it's not going to involve Jared Jeffries unless the Celtics ownership decides it's worth paying 2x $7 million next year.

Scali and JR (trade exception) for Nate and Douglas works.

See I think the Nocioni comparison isn't really fair...that was the beginning of the season...now we're in a slump, our bench has been exposed to not have a capable 3/4 defender, and we're sorely in need of a real scoring punch from the outside.

I'd be perfectly happy taking on Nate and jefferies.

Talent wise I would love to get Nate and Jeffries.  But the money is probably too much.  We're already going to be in a tight financial situation this summer with most of our bench expiring and probably trying to resign Ray to a cheaper deal etc.

Anyone no Jeffries strengths? Weaknesses? Who can he guard? Baisically what can he bring to the table and is he better than scal and bbd?

Hm, not sure the Knicks would give up Douglas and Nate at the same time.  They'd have only 1 PG then.

I think any trade for Nate will need to involve a first round pick from us or Jared Jeffries leaving the Knicks (or Eddy Curry, but that's not going to happen).

No, because you can't combine exceptions. Doesn't work.

As for Jeffries.... well, he's awful.

He's a 3/4 tweener who can rebound okay and defend fairly well.  He's not much to talk about on the offensive end though.  Definitely not worth the $6.5 million he makes, but still a decent player.  He would be a great bargain if he were on a minimum deal, but with his salary he's a salary cap albatross.
