......Because the Marbury experiment worked so well???.....So we want another malcontent tanker who plays when he feels like it??

I can't imagine he has a great relationship with Rivers since he tanked in Orlando for a trade.

No thanks

cool video, it's relative for obvious reasons.

Haha, nice. I forgot how stacked that Portland team was, especially with the "S's"
: Sheed, Sabonis, Stoudemire, Scottie, Steve Smith, Shawn (kemp), Schrempf, & Bonzi wells

He tanked in Orlando the same way that Pierce tanked here. He's a 25ppg scorer who wants to play more than 7 minutes a game. McGrady has been no where near the malcontent Marbury has been if at all. He went to the rockets management asked for minutes they said no he requested a trade and that's all. He isn't a locker room cancer or anything of the sort.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
He's no more of a risk than Sheed was. He's actually less of a risk, because he'd be signed to a non-guaranteed contract.

I thought McGrady shot himself in the foot by demanding more minutes + out of Houston so quickly. He should have been more patient in his recovery and used the opportunity to show teams he was capable of being a useful player again.

Based on his brief seven games, I think McGrady is a net negative who hurts his team (very poor defender + inefficient scorer). And unfortunately, it's now impossible to know whether that's because he's only at the early stages of his comeback or because he's incapable of playing at a reasonable level again.

As far as I know, Pierce never tanked.

Eh...No.  McGrady tanked for a trade in Orlando and bragged about it after he got traded.

He has the same character as his cousin....No thanks.

Pierce's tanking was probably mandated by management for the ill-fated draft position.

I never felt like Pierce tanked either. I did feel like Doc tanked but changed my mind on that too. I think he is just a bad coach.

Is it just me or are these subject lines misleading?  He isn't going to the Celtics... instead it should be "McGrady might play for Celtics" or something different.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I don't like the analogy. Marbury was ineffective for us because he was no longer a good basketball player, not because of his attitude. McGrady can presumably still play, and as is the case for most players I'm sure the chance to rejuvenate his career and win a ring here would bring the best out of him.
