Pierce asked if since no one was substituted after the technicals, did this cause the team to get tired at the end?

Pause.

Pause.

Pause.

Pierce's answer. Yeah...maybe.
I really really hate not being able to see the full pressers. I really hate it. I love seeing how we react to games, really do.

When we got KG, Sheed & Marquis back these hawks are dead meat. I'm not worried about them.

no they aren't....

I dare you to bet Atlanta the next time we play them. We'll see how strongly you feel about that. We'll see if KG will let us stay flat for an entire half...

KG played the first game against the Hawks this year in Boston and it resulted in a loss also...

Pierce's answer. Yeah...maybe.

because they have nobody on the bench that can contribute like they need from the PG, SG and SF
I think he was trying like hell not to throw his assistant coach under the bus. His facial expression said a lot.

we need scoring off the bench at the SF and guards spot...this is a gimpy team that can break down very quickly and without having legit guys to spell rondo, allen and PP..boston wont win the east. i watch atlanta get DESTROYED by orlando without Carter...and boston gives us this tonight? they have problems deeper than the refs folks...when they win it isnt pretty and when they play good teams they struggle...they blow BIG leads time and time again and have no advantage playing at home. worse yet is nobody fears boston...they all want and are getting a piece of boston

C's with 18 turnovers.
C's 3 point shot has disappeared in the second half.
C's can't defend Joe Johnson.
C's offense has gone south in the second half after a great first half.

Can't blame ANY of that on the refs...
C's shooting 10-17 from three.
C's continue to outrebound the Hawks
C's still playing severely undermanned.
C's still getting very little calls.

C's still leading.

The Hawks outrebounded the Celtics badly and they did it since early in the game.

No team can win a championship turning over the ball at this rate and being consistently outrebounded by pretty much everybody. At one point early in the 4th quarter, there was a 20 point differential in FG% and the Hawks were only down by 2 or 3 points. In the end the Celtics had a 10FG% advantage and still lost the game by 6. The difference out off points off turnovers alone was 17 points. Difficult to win consistently with this, even if you're much better putting the ball in the net and getting stops.

We had a GREAT Game Plan to start this game--All over J Smith and Crawford--and it all went out the window when Doc got ejected.

I was confused as to why Baby and Perk were getting all the touches in the 4th quarter, when you have guys like Pierce, Ray Allen, and even Rondo, on your team. Bad execution.
Because everyone else was gassed by playing the entire second half. Bad coaching.

Yeah, that too obviously...just thought they could've ran better plays. Seemed like they would just stand around for 20 seconds then force up a bad shot.

But like everyone's mentioned, the starters got no rest for 14+ minutes so can't just blame them.

That's just ridiculous.

I really wish the replacement refs hung around.

Doc:

Takes blame for losing his cool

Says the guys gave a great effort

Refs were searching the bench looking to call something on someone and that's why he got one

Rasheed out a week at least

Refuses to throw Thibs under the bus after long pause just like Pierce and then blames the players being out there all that time on himself

No comments regarding the refs
