Perk is one of the best defenders in the league. Blogers need to understand that no one of our starter won't be traded this year.

I'm all for defense, but Big Al is simply a much better player than Perk.  Minnesota wouldn't do a trade like this, but I think Boston would, and they'd figure out how the pieces fit afterward.

That's why I said I wouldn't do it this year, but would consider doing it next off season depending on KG'S health .

There is some rumor on real gm saying that Minny might be interested in a swap for Greg Oden. Both players have a history of injuries, but would you take a gamble on Greg Oden+fillers over Perk, BBD maybe a pick or TA if you were minny?

Looks like Minny won't do anything until the off season according to Marc Stein.

Quote
In related: In the same report by Stein he shot down rumors that Al Jefferson could be available, stating that his sources say Minnesota will hold off on any big moves until after this season is over.

I still think the C's could get a Perk for Big AL deal done. They might have to get a 3rd team involved where Minny would get a young wing with good potential and Perk, Boston would get Big AL and the 3rd team would get a package of something like BBD and Gomes or Sessions.

Big AL is on Chris Bosh's level when healthy , but he has much better post moves. I think the defensive liability thing is a bit overblown with Big AL. He may not be the post defender that Perk is , but just about everything else he does just as good or better. We would have Sheed for low post D still .

Not that it is likely to happen , but I can dream ;D

I love Perkins and I'd love to see Big Al back in green, but there is NO CHANCE minnesota would deal Jefferson for Perkins. Jefferson got traded for KG, now they're gonna turn around and trade him for Perk? Uh  I don't think so.

And why would they take 30 cents/dollar for Big Al by dealing him for Oden?

Yes [if I were the Wolves), I'd trade Al Jefferson for Oden. Surely not for Perkins+BBD+filler.

While I was ready to trade Perk a couple of years ago, he has astounded me this season with his improvement, and I truly love the guy as a Celtic. There are currently VERY few Centers I would trade Perk for, (along with a Scal or a TA), but Big Al is one of them, (Dwight Howard is not).

You wouldn't trade Perkins for Dwight Howard?

Ah this is indeed a tough one.
Big Al Jefferson is perhaps the best low post player (back to basket) in the league.  Perk is one of the best defensive Centers and is rapidly improving his offensive ability over the past year.  I'd make this deal.  But I'd check on Jefferson's health first.  Throw in a couple of expiring contracts and an autographed picture of Kevin McHale taking out Kurt Rambis.

No ... but it has nothing to do with his game, I just completely dislike the guy and his arrogance, so don't ask me to get into an objective discussion about it. Everyone has a few players who they just dislike for what may be irrational reasons ... he's on that list for me, along with Kobe, LeBron, and CP3, (among others).

Nah ... I don't think Greenland has "teams" period. But funny enough, Tim Duncan is from St. Croix ... I lived there for a year of internship, and he was growing up about a half-mile from where I lived. (He's a native Cruzan, mahn!)
