Yeah I would trade Ray for Butler and Jamison but there is no way in almighty that the Wizards would do it.

love Ray and I would hope he would re-sign with the Celts later - would throw BBD into the mix to do this deal.  Like Jamison

Trade Ray and Scal's expiring contracts to the wizards who want to make moves for Jamison and Butler. Yes they are getting the short end of the deal here but they would be getting a lot of money off the books for next year to have a chance to land a Bosh etc... to pair up with Arenas and money for other pieces, hell if they played their cards right they might be able to get Ray to sign an extension at a lower rate. this trade works on all the trade checkers and it will also work throwing in other pieces as well like a Tony Aleen to sweeten the deal and it still is a successful trade.

This is what I post the other day in another thread!
L.A. Clippers
Derrick Rose Blake Griffin 4.11 5.3 5.15 6.11 7.15 8.11 9.15 10.11 11.15 12.11 13.15

yes but I would think long and hard because I love Jamison and he has shown he can  come off the bench (Dallas) but he is 33 and just re-signed  a new deal....BUT I always have liked Caron who models his game after PP and having Jamison as your back up 4 or starting 4 when KG is out is like having Odom as your 6th man.. It would be amazing!! I am  scared Clevland is going to get Jamison which would spell TROUBLE because IMO that is what thry have been missing.. A True stretch 4 and if they get that... we are in a lil trouble..

There is something about seeing Ray Allen on the court that makes me feel calm.  I know he's not all he used to be, but the respect he gets is still a factor in spacing the floor and opening up defenses.  And until he proves otherise, there is no one in the NBA I'd rather see heaving up a last second shot that Ray Allen (Kobe's recent heroics notwithstanding).

That said, the OPs trade idea is exactly the type of home run ball Danny should be looking for.  If Danny has a chance to make the team a little younger and more talented in one fell swoop -- he's got to do it.  But I sure would miss Ray.

Would do the trade in a heartbeat, but how much does WAS really need to unload once Arenas is gone? They don't seem like a team that is financially desperate. Is there a chance of them clearing enough room for an all star free agent?

Jamison and Wallace off the bench is a ridiculous big man combo.

I gotta think that Butler will be the guy they keep and with trading Jamison for an expiring contract, could sign one max level free agent to add to him and one pretty dam close to max level guy as well.

Would it surprise anyoen to see them sign David Lee and Joe Johnson to add to Butler, Blatche, Young, Foye, McGee and company.

I think you have to. Much as I love Ray.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I don't think they should be that high on Butler.  He'll be 30 this year and he's had far more decidedly mediocre seasons than All-Star caliber ones.  He's just not that good.  I'd take Ray over him right now.

I love Jamison though.  He would be fantastic (and fantastically expensive) as a 6th man.

Sub Miller for Butler and I'd probably do this deal.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Bye Ray.

BTW, any possibility we can get LBJ for Scal and TA, Giddens, Walker and maybe a second rounder before the trade deadline?

I dont think Washington would do that trade.

How about this trade?

Bos Sennds : Ray Allen , Giddens/ Walker

Wash Sends: Mike Miller, Jamison

I think that is a realistic trade

For Boston:
Mike Miller is a career 40% 3PT shooter and before he got injured this year through 9 games he was shoot 56% from 3 point land. Ray Allen for his career is a is also a 40% 3pt shooter and is shooting 34% this year from 3 pt land. I didn't realize that Miller was such a good shooter . Miller has played under Doc before so you know he would fit in.

Jamison is a great player off the bench. Can put up 20 any night. Would be insurance in case KG goes down in the playoffs.

We could even get a 3rd team involved and send jamison away for a good wing player because we would still have BBD to backup KG

God, what a bad trade.

Caron Butler would be interesting.  But banish Ray from Oz,
no way, not even to the Wiz.
