Ive read that Wasington may consider trying to void Arenas contract. If they go total rebuild would you consider this?

Yes, but I would probably try and shop Jamison to improve the bench at the PG, SG or SF spot.

Without looking, I would guess that the salary gap is too big for a trade like that to be feasible.  If it were, the Celts would absolutely have to make it, as it's too much talent to pass up.

I am not sure of the cap implications. I know it worked on realgm trade machine. I think Butler has 2 more years and Jamison 3 more.

You're right, it does work.  I wasn't aware how reasonable Butler's contract was.

Washington would be extremely foolish to trade him, unless they're given actual value.  You don't find too many all-star caliber players signed to less than $10 million per season, unless they're on their rookie deal.

Butler is playing hurt right now and is no where near all star level. I would inquire about Jamison though.

I think from Washingtons perspective adding Butler to the deal would be the cost of shedding Jamisons 3 more years. Jamison is 33 and signed at 3+years at 14 mil and change.

I dont think Washington would do that trade.

How about this trade?

Bos Sennds : Ray Allen , Giddens/ Walker

Wash Sends: Mike Miller, Jamison

I think that is a realistic trade

For Boston:
Mike Miller is a career 40% 3PT shooter and before he got injured this year through 9 games he was shoot 56% from 3 point land. Ray Allen for his career is a is also a 40% 3pt shooter and is shooting 34% this year from 3 pt land. I didn't realize that Miller was such a good shooter . Miller has played under Doc before so you know he would fit in.

Jamison is a great player off the bench. Can put up 20 any night. Would be insurance in case KG goes down in the playoffs.

We could even get a 3rd team involved and send jamison away for a good wing player because we would still have BBD to backup KG

I would do it in a heart beat. I think Danny would too. I don't think Washington would.

But if that did occur, the market that could open up to the C's for Jamison would be incredible. Problem is, Washington already has that market available to them they will definitely be able to get a package better than just Ray Allen for those two guys.

I don't see Washington unloading Butler or Jamison for an expiring contract.  They would want a core player for each of those guys, I assume.  But in my opinion, I would try to get rid of Arenas first, then see what happens.  It appears that those two are part of the solution, and Arenas is part of the problem.

Except those two without Arenas haven't equaled wins either.

I still think they should try to get out of Gilberts contract and then just trade Jamison for cap space and a draft pick.

The Wizards are 11-21 and last in the Southeast. Flip Saunders has been ripping the team in the media and now Arenas could possibly be facing a long suspension. With the salary cap going down and this years team going nowhere they dont have many choices excepet to rebuild. Ray's expiring contract gives them the flexibility to rebuild next year. Plus if Gilbert gets charged with a crime ive read there have been internal discussions about attempting to void his contract.

The roster is talented and some of the players have value so they should be able to shuffle the deck and come out ok.  Those two can be nice starters on a good team, but the that whole team is built around Arenas who shouldn't be a number one guy.

edit that.

I meant those two without Gilbert.
