You know what, with these bits, the worst 'part' is the timing really. I still think too much while I play.
When I just sit and try to erm... I believe they call it "jam", my timing is good but the rest is crap
At some point in time, I'll get it all figured out haha
.edit: oh, forgot to say; thanks for the compliments m8. You're too generous
I don't ever want to minimize practicing and doing the tedious learning, (that's important as well), but I have learned ten times more while "jamming" than I have doing anything else ... that's how you really get the "feel" for the instrument and that connection where it becomes an extension of your body. In every band I was ever in, we would spend at least 1/3 of every practice on just jamming and experimenting ... it's so nice to just let go, not worry about doing things perfectly, and just PLAY. We used sound-checks and warm-ups as jam sessions, too, and ended up writing songs from ideas we'd come up with jamming. Give attention to the technical stuff, but keep jamming, too, because that's when you really learn to apply the things you've learned and are working on.
