I just watched Zombieland. That movie was hilarious; I mean laugh out loud funny and I'm not one to crack up easily, especially alone. I highly, highly recommend it.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Your Highness.

It was..good. A 3/5 star movie. It wasn't the Princess Bride, it was pretty facile, but it had its charm.

If you like Danny McBride, you'll like this movie. If you don't like Danny McBride, you'll kinda like this movie if you're honest, but if you have the urge to be snarky about it, you won't lack for ammunition.

Recently watched Gran Torino. Brilliant.

I can't get enough of Clint Eastwood's directing. A Perfect World may be my all-time favorite movie.

Saw 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' this weekend. Thought it was great. Really funny and well acted.

Next up is Dances With Wolves. Haven't seen it in like 15 years, recorded it over the weekend.

For those who know nothing about this film:

Quote
Upon its debut on the art film circuit, the film received substantial attention for its graphic depictions of rape, necrophilia, and paedophilia.

The state prosecution of Serbia opened an investigation to find out if the film violates the law. It is being investigated for elements of crime against sexual morals and crime related to the protection of minors.[3] It was banned by a San Sebastián (Spain) court for "threatening sexual freedom" and thus could not be shown in the XXI Semana de Cine Fantástico y de Terror (21st Horror and Fantasy Film Festival)[4] and banned in Norway after 2 months of sales due to violation of criminal law section 204a and 382 that deals with sexual representation of children and extreme violence. The film was shown at an adults only screening at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain during October 2010; as a result the festival's director Ángel Sala has been charged with exhibiting child ****ography by the Spanish prosecutor who decided to take action in May 2011 after receiving a complaint from a Roman Catholic organization over a pair of scenes involving the rapes of a young child and a newborn.[5]

I've got no interest in watching something like this, but for those who take their cues from CelticsBlog film critics, the above is what you're getting yourself into.

*Disclaimer: In no way way am I endorsing murder, rape, necrophilia or any other perversion, for that matter, but a flick is a flick. Reality can be so much worse than what is depicted on the silver screen. Anyways, there's a reason some movies are rated not suitable for small children.
