I remember when hinrich had the potential to be a top PG. That goes to show what a good memory I have...it seems like a long time ago.
I'd take him in a second as a backup PG, though. If Rondo gets hurt, we're screwed. I think he's more important to our team than any other single player right now, including KG. We have other bigs who can step up, but no other PG.
I think we might be able to get him without trading Ray, though. Chicago has 2 open roster spots they supposedly won't fill because they'd be tax payers, but they need scoring and depth. A trade for Scal, TA, and Giddens works, but would they take TA, given his history with the greazy underbelly of Chicago? They could just cut him, and use House's shooting and get a "free" trial of Giddens as a bench scorer, which is more likely a role he could fill (instead of defense).
They stay under the luxury tax this year, get more cap space this summer, and try out a prospect in Giddens.
We get a solid backup PG whose contract runs out when KG's does, and 2 roster spots, without screwing with our starting rotation.
Hinrich might be the guy. Good find, but wrong proposed deal.
