Okay so you guys are probably right.

I wonder though if there is any way we could work with Chicago, who is actively shopping Thomas, to facilitate a trade with someone to get Chicago what they want, namely a big that can start and probably score on a one year contract, and we can get what we want, namely to dump some of our expiring contract junk for a useful energy 3-4 and/or a good back PG.

What about getting Portland involved?

A three-way deal that sends as principals Thomas and Hinrich to Portland, Andre Miller and Travis Outlaw to Boston, and Davis, expiring money, and additional considerations to Chicago?

Although Miller's contract is pricey for a backup PG, I'll admit.

Not enough minutes for Miller and Outlaw's still out for a while. Miller will definitely be a big pick up for somebody tho.

I'd love to add Tyrus, but the Bulls probably want a semi-star in return, not some of our bench leftovers.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari

Sure, send Ray Allen to Utah, and Boozer to Chicago.  Short of that, I don't know if there is a match there.

I'm really discouraged by the fact that people are even willing to toss Ray Allen into trade talks.  ::)

Forget Ray -- I find it outrageous how folks throw around TONY Allen's name in trade proposals like a used dishrag. Salmon and Mashed Potatoes!

I'd rather have the dishrag.

guy i'd want from chicago is kirk heinrich, put eddie in the trade and he takes over for pg/sg backup
add in to make it work giddens, tony allen, scal, walker whatever $$ makes the trade work (davis)
this leaves us with a true backup pg who can defend a sg or pg, can also play sg
frees up marquis for sf backup and whoever is left out of walker, scal gets the other sf minutes
strong bench!

you wonder whether chicago would seriously consider a trade with baby and thomas as the principles. noah and thomas can't play well together on the same front line because neither can shoot. baby would actually be an interesting fit with the bulls. considering the rivalry these teams have begun to develop, it's certainly unlikely. but both teams would have to at least consider it.
