Rondo could get his triple double tonight. I think it would be his first of the season. Also, I am hoping this post goes through, my last few attempts have timed out.

yeah, it would be his first of the season - he missed one against NY by 1 rebound

Rondo keeps running down to the basket then has to reset.  Is it just because he finds he has no layup there or is that a deliberate strategy?
Plus defense often doesn't know what to do and he get lots of looks down there.

He hasn't really gotten any looks so far though, that's why I'm wondering.

Spurs can't hit free throws. 2-7

We held them to 14 points in the first quarter, but our bench got creamed to start the second quarter to get them withing 2. But our starters are again pushing the lead back towards double digits.

Very poor substitutions by Doc tonight.  It was painfully obvious that the lineup on the floor lost the offensive flow and also was playing terrible defense.  No one protecting the middle against drives or rebounds.  Doc waited too long to bring the starters back in there and now the Spurs are right back in the game

I have a suspicion Doc's trying to make a point to somebody, maybe remind the starters they shouldn't rely on bench so much.  I'm not sure, but you're right that the substitutions were puzzling.
hmm.. you mean cut down the lead so that the starters will continue to play with urgency?

You say it way better than I did.  But I also mean fiddling with the lineup they are watching on the floor to get them to SEE something in particular, like maybe how Scal is doing something.

Quick start to 12-6 and a 10p lead at the Q, then a bit of a letdown by the bench. Now we're doing okayish again. Could be better on O.

Rondo in = win.

Refs are scary. Not whistling much.

gracias
Yup

Not a new thing though, he's been doing it forever :) I like it. Not many guards are able to go in and out like that.

This summary is longer and has a lot more details.

Wow we would be pretty lucky if we could get this back up to ten. 32 points for the spurs and its almost half? Wow, although I would say its at least as much their missing shots as our good defense

Good, the refs didn't go for Manu's really bad head flop selling an offensive.
