Like a lot of you, I have been looking at trades involving Ray, and this is one that I thought was at least interesting. I am not sure if any of these teams would actually do it, but on some levels, it does make sense for everyone:
How about this 3 team trade?
Boston gets:
Kevin Martin
Monta Ellis
Spencer Hawes
Sacramento gets:
Ray Allen
Rajon Rondo
Ronny Turiaf
Golden State gets:
Kenny Thomas
Andres Nocioni
Boston First Round pick
Boston gets a younger, and cheaper SG, who is a better player than Ray right now, and is a guy you could build around. They also get a Center prospect, who the Kings seem to be somewhat luke-warm on, and of course Ellis, who is similar to Rondo in a lot of ways, but is much more of a pure scorer, than passing PG.
Obviously this is a big risk, but it gives them a couple extra pieces to eventually build around, while also keeping them strong for this season.
For Golden State, they get rid of a guy who doesn't want to be there, save some cash next season (not to mention in the longrun), and get a pick for their trouble.
And Sacramento gets a young PG to put next to Evans to build around, while opening up the spot to slide Evans over to SG. And of course, they also save cash. Having Ray around might also help with the development of their young guys as well.
