Joe Alexander wouldn't mind trade

I know I brought this up in a Noci thread, but this takes Alexander one step closer to being moved.

Many think either he just can't play or that he may develop years down the road but would be no help now....I still would be intrigued by him. mostly because I felt like he was putting his game together coming into this season and on the Cs he really wouldn't need to take on a huge role. He also wouldn't necessarily tie up any money long term if he didn't work out.

I wonder what kind of offers MIL would get for him. My guess is that there still would be teams out there willing to gamble on his potential.

Yeah but they're going to ask more than Giddens...Alexander is an expiring, why trade expiring contracts?

I would definitely be all for getting Alexander. I wanted the C's to move up in the draft to get him a few years ago. I know he has struggled so far, but the guy is a great athlete and I think he could become a very good one on one defender . He also has a decent offensive game, better than Giddens for sure and probably Bill Walker too.

I'm no in rush to move Shelden. but i do think some team/GM out there thinks that Alexander is a player. Someone out there was scouting him hard around the draft and IMO would love to grab him.

I just think you can't call a guy a bust after one season....not saying he won't turn out that way, but i think it's too early to come to that conclusion.

again, ideally i'd like to move a future #1 and Walker or JR, but I think someone will offer more than that....

Alexander’s talent is definitely intriguing; however, I don’t think he would be a difference maker on this team this year if we traded for him Mid Season.

Therefore, I would be reluctant to give up anything of value for him.

My bet is that Milwaukee will use him as the bait to get out of Gadzuric’s contract.

“Look we’ll let you take a flyer on a lottery pick that’s an expiring 2.5M contract if you take the 7.5M owed to Gadzuric”

My bet is when teams start calling about Alexander, that’s the direction the Hammond takes the conversation.

Milwaukee is also in a good spot to package their expirings:

Ridnour: 6.5M
Alexander: 2.5M
Kurt Thomas: 3.8M

12.8 Million in expiring contracts for three serviceable players.

My bet is that Alexander will be used to entice a bigger deal rather than a 1 for 1 trade…

well, two things:

1. I think JA is a more intriguing prospect , and
2. he fits a need in a player that is essentially a SF that can play some at PF

I think that is way too steep for someone that won't help the Cs win this year.  If the Cs are still interested in him next year, then sign him to a min contract.

One thing that is nice is Shelden has value....unclear how much because he's only on a one year deal, though.

I don't think the Bucks could get a first round pick in exchange for Alexander ... I'm thinking two second round picks.

However, probably not for the C's considering how little value their second round picks (last five picks of the draft) have. Maybe if they were far into the future.
