I know the C's won last night, but I'm still seeing the sorry defense that has plagued this team for several games.  I fear that if they play like they played last night or like they've played the last several games, they will get blown out against Orlando. ???
"If somebody would have told you when he was playing with the Knicks that Nate Robinson was going to change a big time game and he was going to do it mostly because of his defense, somebody would have got slapped."  Mark Jackson

Agree..defense is definitely a concern of mine as well. I am sure that Perk will slow down Dwight, but Rashard Lewis and Vinsanity need to have close attention.

KG can hopefully slow down Lewis somewhat, but may be a challenge for him with his conditioning coming back.

I believe the C's will get up for this one, though. They know that this can be a statement game for them just like CLE was.

Orlando isn't nearly as tough without Jameer Nelson.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I don't think when the two teams play at the peak of their abilities that the magic can hang. We now have 3 guys who can keep Howard from bulldozing his way to the paint Perk, Sheed, and Baby(although Baby can't keep him off the glass).

I'm worried about Rondo's defense on Johnson and Williams. Other than that... we may be late on the perimeter but the Magic has played really bad defense this season (worse than ours actually) so we should be OK.

I expect our team to come motivated and very aggressive, which should mean more focused and efficient defensively.

  • Let's Go Celtics
If Rondo takes advantage of Nelson being out and plays the way he did in last night's third quarter than the Celtics win easily at home.  If he doesn't I think it will be a close game.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

Nope. Not at all. I think the Celtics should refund all the game tickets, shut down the TDGarden, tell CSN and any national people coming to broadcast the game to go home and maybe cancel Christmas.

Last night's game made me want to give a similar sarcastic comment just now. TP my friend :)

I'm not worried. I think we'll come out playing with urgency. I don't think the team can forget that they got beat game 7, at home last year. The defense will be sharp. Energy will be high.

And if not...we'll just have to learn from it and move on.

If they play like they usually do they'll have their faces in the mud the 1st quarter. If we play like we did in Cleveland, Orlando is in for a bad night.
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!

I think it's going to be a painful night for the Magic.

Am I honestly the only one that thinks we didn't play all that well @ Cleveland in that opener?
