It continually amazes me how incompetent GSW's front office is.

For this move, or for putting themselves into a position where they needed to make this move?  Because I completely agree that they have done a terrible job over the last few years, and painted themselves into a corner (much like NO), but I actually think this was a decent move.  They were not going to get much better value than what they got.  They just screwed themselves by resigning him.
Both -- I think the Warriors could have easily gotten an expiring contract for Jackson. I greatly dislike them taking on that additional year on Radmanovic's contract.

My guess is that no one was willing to give up their expiring contracts for Jackson at this point.  If they were willing to wait until February, it might have been another story, but I don't know if that was really an option, given how ugly it has gotten over the last few weeks.  I think they were on the verge of Jackson being in a Marbury/Tinsley situation, where he was asked not to show up until they traded him...and that would have killed his trade value even more.

Great for GS.  Clear him off the books.

Char, what's the point?  Sure, he can hang stats, but the team isn't really that much better.

Jackson, another terrible team he can go and hang stats.

Last time I saw them play, they were starting Stephen Graham at SG.  I think Jackson makes them better.  He may not make them a championship contender, but he puts them into the discussion for the playoffs.

Should be good for my PASPN team. I picked Golden State, so with him being traded he'll probably be more of a focus on offense and it means the other GS guys on my roster (maggette, Randolph, Morrow) will have to play more.

My question is, who else is available from Golden State? Or Charlotte (Diaw, for this year and 2 more at 9 mil per...worth it? he'd fit our style, and  would expire same year as KG?)

Well, I don't think Charlotte is a seller right now.  And Golden State likely will not be interested in trading anyone who we would actually want to get, other than maybe Raja Bell (I am hoping they just buy him out).

Wonder what GS will do with Bell? Buyout, flip in trade, maybe? I wonder if we got get ahold of him for next to nothing now. Either way, good deal for Charlotte.

I would guess Bell opts for surgery to repair his hand injury. Why kill yourself for a dysfunctional franchise with no shot at the playoffs?

By the way, this means the Bobcats will have a payroll of about $60 million going into next season, assuming Chandler and Mohammed don't opt out of their contracts (and why would they?).

This doesn't include Raymond Felton, who will be a free agent. Anyone think Robert Johnson will pay luxury tax to keep Felton around?

Come February, the Bobcats' FO will have a major decision to make: keep Jackson and let Felton walk, or trade Jackson for expiring money to clear payroll space for Felton.

Best thing about all of this is that he didn't go to CLE..I wish him the best in CHA, though (just not against Boston ;D). I have always liked his game and intensity.

Guess that kills the Iverson to Charlotte ideas.

That was an idea somewhere, wasn't it?
Yup
