Just because it's November isn't an excuse to just write off truly awful play and what appears to be a lack of real focus and effort.

Does that mean the Celtics are now allowed to make a trade now? (after being told on this site that they were not allowed to because how good the team was playing)

No I wouldn't say it's time to panic..IMO I believe the lack of practice time is hurting the C's...these back to backs are not fun.

Another apparent lackluster effort on defense..rebounding was better, but not enough stops.

And I'll be the first to say that we miss Glen Davis and Tony Allen. Glen would at least mix it up down low. Perk is trying and KG is still getting legs back. Sheed has played mostly outside the paint so far.

TA is yet another wing defender that could have helped. If he was available we could have maybe started Marquis Daniels and rested Pierce and brought TA off of bench for Daniels.

No panic from this end. I've been a fan for 28 years now..I've seen plenty of 2, 3, 4 or more game losing streaks.

And the C's could still run off 20 or so in a row once they get the ship righted (remember last year?). They had an inexperienced bench last yr and still had that big run.

No worries from this end. The sky is not falling.

We had three days to practice before the Hawks game... didn't help, not an excuse. Young teams just run them into the ground.

With the way the 4 big men are playing, I am not so sure Davis is missed that much.

I know TA is missed by the other teams looking for easy TOs.

Team has some kinks to work out.  Get them fixed now.

Show the flaws early so their is pressure and plenty of time for Ainge to address them.

Thank you! I don't want to be a debbie downer here, but if we continue to play like this, by the time March roles around... we're going to be worrying about how to rebuild this team not how to distribute minutes in the playoffs and such.

Who's writing it off?

The performance has been awful the last two nights - I acknowledged that plenty elsewhere on site regarding last night's game and in my call in to CSL last night.  But with the possible exception of trouble defending in transition against two faster-paced teams, I'm not sure that major inherent flaw was exposed over the last two nights.

Defense, rebounding (Friday night) and foul shooting are primarily about effort and focus - and it's infuriating as a fan to watch the team on nights when they lack those things.  But those are things that I feel confident are fixable with relative ease in the big picture (FT shooting when it comes to Rondo being the possible exception there), especially with the group of players on this squad and the coaching staff.

There's plenty of reason to be upset as fans that we spent our weekend watching back-to-back lackluster performances from a "Man, this really messes up my weekend standpoint."  And by no means do I expect the coaching staff to "write off" the performance in the gym over the next couple of days.  I imagine they will work these guys, and rightfully so.

But as a fan, the idea of panicking big-picture style on November 14 is what seems silly to me, and that's why I posted the calendar image.

I'd say no...I believe the last thing the C's need is a Kneejerk reaction. We are still Championship contenders. The C's will make the necessary internal adjustments, whatever they may be.

This isn't a young team..they are experienced, and they will pull this out. No need to bring in any other players in a trade.

YES IT IS BRO SHHHHHHHHHH SWEEP IT UNDER THE RUG.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Agree @ mister SW.

Mainly because it's sort of what I'm thinking right now, but also because I won't have to write as much as he just did if I just agree.

Who said a knee jerk trade now?

I just wanted to know if it is now allowed?

+ there is nothing wrong with a good trade before the deadline.  Not because of the two straight loses, just to always look for ways to improve the team.

My fault, my friend I mis-understood you.

As far as I know NBA teams are allowed to make trades, all the way up until after the All-Star Break I believe. Anyone please correct me if I am wrong.

I did not see the game. I followed it on the computer at Celtics.com. It appeared as if the Pacers were just scoring at will.

If we did trade, who would we look to bring in? Trade away?

TP @ SW for the calendar image.  :D

We don't play again until Wednesday. Let's ALL take a break and stop stressing out. Or, you can transmit your CSN broadcast to me so I can actually see the game, somehow. -_-'

Fair enough.  It is easy to get really annoyed by the second loss in a row in two weekend nights.  I think the main source of this reaction is that the way this team played the first few games gave us some really high expectations and now we're being reminded that this team is mortal, perhaps even more moral than we would have guessed.
